Wtf does likely won’t play even mean?

The season starts in three days.

Waiver request.

Chris Graves had to ask for a waiver. He entered the Portal July 19th. Took a couple of weeks for him to hear back. Not guaranteed.

Not sure why people think that a kid who entered on June 30th could not get a similar outcome. We shall see. We shall see.

Unless he is granted an NCAA waiver, Burroughs will not be eligible to play in the coming season but will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next school.

He did NOT get kicked out. He likely had his financial aid pulled.
So Nicky told him he was no longer a scholarship athlete and he’d have pay his own way through school.

Nicky fully knowing he wouldn’t stay created a situation that would affect his immediate eligibility at the school of his choosing? Is that close to what occurred?

Kinda-sorta. If you look at the timing, it was mid-summer semester (same as Graves). Some of your financial aid is for housing, food, etc.

So...you could say "we are going to suspend you"...and the player could say "Portal, dude", and then still be enrolled in classes, while school could say "we're cutting you off", and then it all sets up for a "winnable" appeal.

Such as what happened with Chris Graves.
