James has been noticeably improved this year. Clearly he was ****ed about the offense and losing and reverted back to bad habits on that 98yard drive. Needs to play smarter and keep his emotions in check but not gonna blame his for that debacle

But don’t we say this about him every game? Emotions. Bad form. Play smarter. Rinse and repeat for one of our better players.

Last year? yeah every game. This year? not nearly as much. Dont get me wrong, he has not lived up the 5 star hype but hes improved and overall is a net positive to the defense.

Dude, every week in the game day thread, we are waiting for him to make a bonehead play that will cost us 15 yards or miss a tackle.
 
So is it the OP's opinion that 20 won't play in the NFL?

If so, name your bet.

I do agree that he needs to work on some things, but that wild card he's got in him, it helps is out too when he's in the area. The other players know when he's around. Call it good with the bad but there's been far more good than bad this year.

I know one thing, I'd be ****ed and have a bad attitude too if my teammates and I were balling out and the offense was constantly ****ting the bed like they are. At that point, you feel like you've gotta press to try and win it, you know the won't.

Agreed lol but this year he's also made a lot of big plays and way better tackling (minus that NC state TD)

James Williams is the 2023 version of a slightly better Ray Ray Armstrong at this rate.

When an offense and QB doesn't execute EVERYTHING on a team is magnified. I watched the Chiefs and Oklahoma with Riley both drop 5+ passes in the same week and both teams still won.

When you have a stagnant offense and a shell shocked QB every minute detail us criticized to the extreme.

In no way should we be giving ANYONE flack but Mario and TvD
 
Williams is somewhere barely in front of Borregales as far as people in this program that I'm lashing out at right now.

He had at least 3. The whiff on the long run in the first where he took a horrible angle and hit spun around like a Mustang at an Oakland sideshow. He’s not perfect, so missing tackles is going to happen, but the one on the TD that nailed the coffin and the 15 yarder were both pretty bad and can’t be excused and justified, but it will be by his fan camp on here.

This is like saying someone is an abnormally tall dwarf…he’s play was a landfill last year, he’s now playing at dumpster level at times, when it matters. TVD is Kirby Freeman level bad, he earns the bulk of the blame, just a hair under Mario, but James has to be better. He’s consistently inconsistent and I really don’t see him ever being better than what he is now.

Great athlete who does dumb things quite often that end up hurting the team.

He’s pretty much South Florida football personified. The walking poster child of everything right and wrong with South Florida football players in college
