You never know the motivations until after the fact. Perhaps Franklin knows another scandal is about to go down at Penn State or he has some skeletons in his closet there he's running from (a la Pete Carroll and a bunch of others).

Do I want Franklin at F$U? Definitely not, because he's a notch or two better than what they should expect to have as coach. This isn't some guy who is strictly a recruiter like Mario or Taggart, whose gameday coaching sucks. He's a legit coach and far better than what F$U is likely to get.

He'd have them in the same position he has Penn State in. They'll be good, but not Clemson good and he'll take an unnecessary L here n there that kill seasons.

It'd be a good hire...but BACK to FSU is championships...I dont think he's that. One of the best coaches in CFB tho.
