I would take Brock Berlin over Kayaa at this point.

to be fair he hand picked the best qb we've had in the last decade. our offense was really limited by our poor OL play this year.

Then, you are a fool.

Berlin is not anywhere in the same class of QB as Kaaya. Brad Kaaya is a full two notches better than Berlin, ever was, and he is just a true sophomore.

Berlin absolutely STUNK his first year, and he cost Miami a title, all by his **** self. That was some of the worst QB play we've ever seen at Miami.

That team was stacked on both sides of the ball- and it might've been the best defense we've seen at Miami (ranks right up there with that 1986 defense, if not better), yet it was all wasted on Berlin. We wasted a championship caliber defense, FIVE (5) first round draft picks (3 on D/2 on O), a great O-line, and the greatness of KWII and Frank Gore on offense, all on Berlins play. That team also featured Devin Hester, Kevin Everret (Another very good TE and 3rd pick) and Roscoe Parish, and those guys were ballers. Berlin was horrible that year, period. I'm still annoyed by it, because we wasted a **** load of talent and threw away championship because of that dude.

We would've won a title, with even a Freshman Brad Kaaya leading that squad.

And Berlin was merely average his last year at Miami.

Say no to crack!

Berlin was 21-5 as a starter for us. We finished #5 in both polls his Jr. season and #11 in both polls his Sr. season.

He threw 48 TD's and 27 INT's as a starter for us and the Gata.

He finished his career 5-0 against the Semenholes and Gata. Including a Sugar Bowl spanking of the Gata.

He led us back from a 33-10 deficit in the second half as a Jr. To defeat the Gata. We won 38-33.

He also led us to a huge second half comeback against Petrino's Louisville as a senior. We were losing by 17. We won 41-38.

He was a great QB out of the shotgun but struggled under center. Clappy was such a moron that he never figured this out.

All of Berlin's best games came when he played out of the shotgun.

Next time please do some research before you insert your foot in your mouth.

Brad has a lot of potential, but has yet to beat FSU or lead us to a BIG GAME, BIG TIME comeback.

Fair point although I suspect that Berlin had better, deeper talent around him.

FAU has an opening for an OC.

I guess the question will be, does the money matter more than the play-calling?

Assuming he wants to stay in South Florida ...

FAU hired Trickett, from Samford, to be their OC.

Maybe Coley makes the right decision, and stays on staff to recruit and continue to learn from Richt??

****, they're both former OCs for FSU ...

Yeah I would take Berlin over anyone we had between Dorsey and kaaya but you have to admit the talent he had around him on the field and coaching sh*ts on what the other qbs had for the most part

Are you trying to make the point that Berlin was better than Kaaya?

You can try to finagle the stats any way you want, but if you actually watched the games when he played he was a total disaster his first year as a starter. But for his awful play, UM wins a NC that year. He was so fcking bad that we had to start Crudup late in the season. He rebounded and had a decent senior season, but he was putrid as a junior.

I'd guess that anyone you see out recruiting will be retained

Considering most of the coaches have been out on visits, then that would mean we're basically keeping them all. As we know, that won't happen and as someone already said, whatever recruits main recruiter has been going on these visits with Richt. It is also a way for him to evaluate them all during their visit.

Corley is not getting hired at a major program to be OC. But that's not our problem. Not sure why people think he needs to be taken from us, when we can just fire his *** and let him deal with it.

Let me pimp slap you real quick. Pay close attention.

You can throw out all the Berlin "stats" you want to try and bolster you point, but here are the facts:

1. Berlin DID NOT throw for 48 TD's. He only threw for only 34 TD's in his Miami career, with 23 INTS, including a whopping 17 INTs in year one; he had only 12 TD's and a whopping (17) SEVENTEEEN INT's his junior year. And bear in mind, he had the advantage of starting as a RS junior and RS senior. As a RS senior, in his so-called "breakout year" when he was throwing from the shotgun, he completed only 56% of his passes and threw for only 2680 yards. Joe Montana he was not.
Brock Berlin Stats | College Football at Sports-Reference.com

Brady Kaaya, on the other hand, has thrown for 41 TD's (with a game still to play), and only 16 INT's two years, even though he started as a true freshman. Also, Kayaa missed nearly two games (hurt in the 1st quarter) due to the concussion this year, so you have to figure he'd have right at around 45-46 TD's, if it weren't for the injury. Kaaya, as true Sophomore (with a less dominant team, worse coaching, weaker online and weaker running game) has thrown for many more yards, throws for more yards per attempt, has more TD's, fewer INT's, higher completion %, higher QBR, higher QB rating, than Berlin did as a RS Junior and Senior. Facts!
Brad Kaaya Stats, News, Videos, Pictures, Bio - Miami (FL) Hurricanes - ESPN

2. Berlins "record" against FSU and the Gator, was merely function of the out of this world talent Berlin had around him. Just look at that roster, man!! Dominant O-line, dominant running game, dominating TE's (Winslow, Everret AND Greg Olson), good WR's, crazy team depth, and a DOMINATING defense. First, second and third round picks across the board.

3. Berlin was lucky enough to be playing against a Ron Zook Coached Gator (he was Al Goldenesque), and an FSU team that was being coached by an 118 year old Bobby Bowden. Those were some of the worse FSU teams we've seen in 30 years, from a talent and coaching perspective.

4. Al Golden/Mark Donofrio --Nuff said

Finally, let me close by looking at the intangibles. The team Berlin QB'd were forged by steel (i.e., coached by Butch, played in and won BIG games) and had championship moxie. Namely, a large percentage of that team played in back to back title games; they won one and had the other stolen. Kaaya's teams were coached by Golden (One of the worst coaches in CFB, and the worst coach in Miami history), they never won anything significant, and the roster doesn't have the talent or depth those Berlin led Canes did.

Brad Kaaya is a worlds better QB than Berlin ever was at Miami. Berlin wasn't anywhere near a "stud" QB, whether under center or from shotgun. He stunk up the joint as a junior (cost us a title with his play) and were merely an average QB from the shotgun as a junior. I've been watching Canes ball for over 30 years and Berlins Junior year, especially was some of the worst QB play we've seen at Miami.

Facts!

I've been watching Canes ball for over 30 years and Berlins Junior year, especially was some of the worst QB play we've seen at Miami.

now THIS is a solid debate.
