Luckily we might be able to redshirt him and let him develop into his body and hopefully a tackle position.... could sneak into Scaifes RT spot if he bolts early after his JR season...

Or kicks inside and road mauls folks
The OL talent level is slowly getting there. We have some 4 star recruits that don’t play and we bring back all 6 guys that actually do play (assuming Donaldson stays). Rivers is high level and Washington is the right type of target as a developmental tackle.

Why do people always talk redshirt. Sheesh. Best players play. Period. If he’s not better than anyone currently on the squad then he redshirt, but to just come out the gate and say we should redshirt him is why we struggle. Elite teams are playing their best players. Period! They develop on the field! A la Zion Nelson. Besides, he’s an EE, so he should have enough time to compete for a spot.

Needs to clean up few technique things at the next level in terms of his pass pro set when pass blocking As it looks kind of raw. Great that he is enrolling early, get him to 15 pounds or so for next season and maybe he can contribute as a rotational lineman at either guard or right tackle(like how we brought ereck flowers along as a freshman)

The kid has the size and strength to do well at the D1 level... with a little more speed and flexibility, he would make a great guard...

Got a feeling he replaces Donaldson at left guard when he leaves and then replaces scaife at right tackle if he can lose the weight and clean up technique

Looks more sluggish than I remember from his Jr. film. I do think he's a guard unless he loses weight and regains some quickness. He doesn't have anything close to a vertical set in his repertoire. Those pass blocking highlights were wholly unimpressive. The nice thing is if you compare him to Donaldson he plays with more balance as he has better weight distribution and more natural bend.

The young guys we have on OL have movement potential in the run game and Rivers is limited in that regard. I wonder how that will play out. It could necessitate playing him at RT which is a longer term project.

Lmao the trenches is a mans game...

Besides we potentially if ND returns will return all 5 starters back on a unit that has really gelled and is giving RBs room to run and JW time to throw

Every coach wants to redshirt and get their olinemen stronger
