Miami's staff is doing its best to see as many underclassmen targets as possible before the NCAA's contact period closes next week.

InsideTheU can confirm that the Hurricanes had coaches out on the road recruiting in California, New Jersey and multiple parts of Florida on Thursday.

Rhett Lashlee made by far the most interesting stop of the day as he spent time at La Harba which is right outside of Los Angeles. The school is home to 2021 Top247 quarterback Jake Garcia, who visited Miami this past summer before committing to USC.

Jonathan Patke and Mike Rumph were both in New Jersey. The two swung by Camden where they got a chance to check up on a pair of 2021 targets in four-star cornerbacks Alijah Clark and Duce Chestnut. Patke and Rumph also made the short drive over to Philadelphia where they offered Northeast 2021 Top247 defensive end Elijah Jeudy and Northeast three-star cornerback Tyreek Chappell.

Ephraim Banda and Blaker Baker worked the Sunshine State's Space Coast. The two hit Rockledge, Melbourne Eau Gallie, Vero Beach and Fort Pierce Westwood. Prospects with UM offers at that group of schools include: 2021 Top247 athlete Dink Jackson, 2021 three-star edge rusher Keanu Koht, 2021 linebacker Zachary Lovett, 2021 linebacker Kenard Snyder, 2021 safety Jordan Blackmon, 2021 wide receiver/h-back Raheim Sanders and 2022 safety Kamari Wilson. Satellite Beach 2021 tight end Gunnar Greenwald also picked up an offer from the Hurricanes on Thursday.

Manny Diaz and Eric Hickson made the rounds in Broward County. The two started the morning at Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna Prep which is home to a Miami commit in 2021 placekicker Andres Borregales and a top priority in 2021 Top247 running back Thad Franklin. The Hurricanes also have offers out at the school to 2021 Top247 linebacker Terrence Lewis, 2021 four-star wide receiver Bralon Brown, 2021 defensive tackle Allan Haye, 2022 defensive end Jamaal Johnson and 2022 edge rusher Kenyatta Jackson.

Both Manny and Lashlee have visited Garcia in the past two weeks. They've also gone to see Miller Moss.

Garcia may be committed to USC but it also looks like USC could be looking to bring in 2 QBs in 2021 and they are recruiting Miller Moss, too. At the very least, they don't want to be left with no QB prospect if Garcia bolts like they were this year when Young flipped to Bama.

Kenyatta Jackson is my little brother, he is definitely all canes, in 2022 you’re going to get a great one

Finally we figured out for the first time since 2000 that there are 50 states in the US.. I was convinced our coaches only thought the US was made up of 4 states until now. I'd love to see them make another trip to Hawaii while out at California, our team could use a couple of mammoth Samoan O lineman and maybe a QB from there.

Who were the other three apart from Florida? I'm guessing New Jersey was one...

Sofla recruiting is a **** bloodbath. We keep saying we want people with sofla ties while ignoring every other coach and other recruiting areas. We just landed a kid from San Diego. Freaking San Diego!
We have a kid from Gulliver that says his dream school is LSU cause of all the legends despite having st26 as an alumni of his **** school.
we cried about Jeudy while the pirate and Utah had receivers ballin.

Nothing wrong with SD - plenty of good players have come from there - like Winslow Jr. a couple decades ago.

Get the players wherever we can.
