Yeah he been ahs & got benched! Finally! But he was still missing tackles on special teams. Had a chance to get a safety or a tackle at the 1 on a punt and got juked to hades! He was not this bad last year at BC! It’s like he regressed. He’s in position to make plays because of his speed, but he cannot break down and tackle for ****! How TF you go from 83 tackles and many big hits/ forced fumbles to not being able to tackle AT ALL!?!Didn’t Thornton have his time significantly reduced yesterday or are my eyes messing w me?
Heck of a play by DB. Finger tip knocked it out of Coops hands. Would have been a great catch.Coop got disciplined for a quarter i think creating an opportunity for wingo, still think he had some key plays too. I wish we moved guys around more like 2024
Per him… he doesn’t call plays for players. He calls a play and the QB goes through his progression and goes to the open guy…"A'ight, imma call this PA rollout pass to the TE. Who's playing TE on this play? A walkon... erm, ok, spot the ball I guess".
Can't see it myself.
Think I want Toney off punt return all together to avoid extra hits, but he does have sure hands which is a plusAnd once we have a 24-7 lead, take him off PR and only bring him back if it gets close
He went right back to him on the next drive. It was like a 10 yard out and he caught it.I got ****ed the moment he dropped it. Then saw how badly he was beating himself up. I kinda felt bad for the kid. He knows he should have caught that pass. I would imagine he will feel like **** until he catches another throw his way.
Well the thing that cracks me up is fans continue to not trust the coaches. It was clear after the Clemson game that Thorton lost his spot. Yet everyone was in an uproar that he played against FSU. He only played because 7 and 3 were out! Had 7 been in the game, the whole Duece debacle doesn’t happen.Good , I posted a thread about Thornton after the Clemson game. Glad to see everyone is not being blind about that situation
Only fades are 50/50. There’s 6-8 other routes we can run on the outside when pressed. Most teams play 8-10 yards off on the outside against us and that gives an opportunity for 8-10 different routes on the outside. We don’t use our outside receivers unless it’s a screen. I was shocked to see us run a few deep outs with Barkate and once with Upshaw the series after the drop. We need to make defenses defend the entire field. Before yesterday’s couple of throws, when we threw outside, it was always out of trips and it’s ALWAYS a screen. this offense could be much betterIt’s nitpicking but when they line up press on our outside guys (Barkate, Wingo, Upshaw) why aren’t we putting some deep passes out there and letting those guys make a play? I know it’s a 50/50 thing and it might get them off schedule on a drive but I think if they do it, the ongoing threat of doing it again will open things up more? They did it for Jacobs once.
thanks, why doesnt Hetherman do that on defense for missed tackles? Or Mario for stupid penalties. Coop got blasted in the end zone and the DB got his hand on the ball in the other play.I still think upshaw is more of a slot he should be mali backup imo. I think they probably value his route running more than Jacobs? I know wingo is behind coop. Seems like the wrs have only mastered one role so we don’t move them around, if we did i think wingo would be in upshaw’s spot
The drops. Disciplinary was maybe the wrong word he’s not in trouble but they let wingo get a shot
I think yesterday was because of the comments by the Pitt defender before the game about having a plan for Toney. It felt like Mensah and Toney were punishing Pitt for the comment.Ya’ll might kill me but we are running toney into the ground imo. And i worry about him lasting into brutal playoff stretch. Dnt get me wrong, he’s elite and needs most touches but 19 catches??!?!? And the next most wr’s had 3. Spread the ball around.
A few? No more like 1A few dropped passes. On that first one I think Mensah could have led him to the middle of the field more but honestly that was an excellent play by the db.
This is a game where Belichek will try and have a plan to stop Toney. **** everybody does lol! If he plays a dominate WR he doubles teams with his number 2 corner and a safety then puts his best corner on your 2nd threat. It’s harder to do in college because of bigger talent gaps, This a game where tight ends and RBs need to be passing threats to expand the field and Mensah needs to take what’s there don’t force itI agree and I was ****ed when it happened. With that said, I believe Briggs was open and thought DM should’ve passed it to him. He has definitely forced some passes where could’ve passed it elsewhere.
As a team, there’s a few things to clean up on both sides. And despite that, we’ve been dominating.

They be open, it’s not all on Dawson. Some of that is on mensah as well. The play yesterday where he threw to Toney and Toney dropped the ball in double or tripple coverage, Upshaw was wide open on the left side of the field.
He did not get disciplined but okCoop got disciplined for a quarter i think creating an opportunity for wingo, still think he had some key plays too. I wish we moved guys around more like 2024
Yes they do. Ask Texas.Upshaws drop was egregious. Went from going up 24-0 to 17-7. Those kind of drops completely change games
