Jackson Cantwell practice footage

You don’t have to have 1st round picks in order to have success. Don’t think they are depending on mueller as he will probably be the 3rd TE. I think Gilbert has some potential. Dawson isn’t a big TE guy anyway
Why are you making excuses? The team is the best in the ACC. No one is disputing we can win without them. But those two positions are more than disappointing. It matters when we hit the CFP.

Mario is seeking to build first round talent and introduce competition at every position. We recruited relatively well at TE but several serviceable guys transferred out. Skinner, Williams, Schott. Lofton isn’t really a TE he’s an h-back and has disappointed so far mostly due to injury. Carver has been a non factor. We have bo one close to an Arroyo talent much less a Njoku or Graham level.

Mario rightly pushed out the TE coach. But he needed to use the portal to inject significantly more talent in that room. He lost too much and did not recruit well enough. It’s mediocre at best.

Where did you see 1 excuse? The argument was there is no day 1 talent there and I said you don’t need 1st round picks to be successful. I also stated dawson history of not really using the position for other than blocking. Also stated I felt Gilbert had some potential. So show me the excuses. When does TE matter in the cfp? What TE made a big impact In this past playoff? Of course I want better play out the position than last year but let’s not act like it’s deciding games

Excuse was too critical, apologies. I meant there is no reason to defend the decision not to target a portal TE. Top TEs have historically been difference makers. I’m not going to debate this. The talent isn’t good enough at the position.

TE wont be spectacular but im predicting we'll be more then fine on offense. Im more curious about how our D will look after losing 3 Day 1 talents

Nice reps and making them look easy.

More than that though, I appreciate how he hustles to get back to his spot and is ready to go again. That's not a trait everyone has.
Kid seems like a good balance of humble and also realizing he is a freak of nature

To make sure I understand this, are you saying the reason for their limitations in coverage was they were reliving mentally past trauma from previous injuries...
No. I’m talking altogether. Each time you lace them up it’s in the back of your mind. Toure got better with reps and us not putting him on an island with a shifty slot and it’s just not his game especially coming off two ACL tears. We were doing some exotic stuff early on and had Mesidor in the flats way too much.
