I'd like to point out that the school that the OT who was the ONLY one to not only not be a top 100 pick but also went undrafted because he decided in all his wisdom to sign and become a Florida Gaytor. Such a shame

I disagree. Numbers are numbers but there is context to be applied. Mario has been a HC three times. He was at FIU the longest (6 years). Every stop he’s been at has been a complete rebuild. If you adjust his overall record/winning pct (84-76, 52.5%) to power 5 football (Oregon and Miami) he has a 57-19 record with a 75% win pct. Now if we separate the power 5 programs and re-introduce his time at FIU, it is important to understand what FIU’s program has always been, especially at that time. The golden era of the Golden Panthers was with an inexperienced, first time HC in Mario Cristobal.

I’m a Mario supporter as I’ve said on here a bunch of times. I think he is a much better coach than people, especially our fan base, gives him credit for. He has undoubtedly elevated our program in every facet. As a supporter, what I will say is, he needs to take the next step. We all say “we’d be happy consistently winning 10 games and just being competitive” but that’s a load of crap.

He has recruited better than the rest of the conference 3 years in a row now. He needs to take the next step and, at absolutely bare minimum, get to the ACCCG and the playoff. At some point the question of just how much talent he’s going to need to accrue to beat people with inferior talent to him will come in to play. I hope he turns it around just like I’m hoping the success of our baseball team continues and JD remains for the same reasons as Mario.

But I did not watch cfb heavy at that time so I dont know I could be wrong. LSU was about to turn into what Bama was but he left, and they have an operation over there that he left still till this day. Even goofy *** Brian Kelly can recruit there and they were complete hot dog water before Saban got there

#1 you trippin if you think LSU was gonna be anything like bama turned into at that time. Bama became a dynasty. LSU didn't have none of that goin on.

#2 what was established at LSU that's still there to this day is a good ole boys network. It's a church & it's followers ala righteous gemstones throwing absurd amounts of bread at anyone they want.
We might just be talking about different points. I'm not saying he couldn't recruit at a high level. Obviously they did. But when you talk about evaluations & what made Butch so strong is he didn't care about rankings. He's not known because he signed all the can't miss prospects,the 5 stars etc. Evaluations come into effect when you get those undervalued 3 star kids that didn't have offers like that. You turn those dudes into what builds your program. That's what Butch did with us. Saban never did that. He took kids everyone wanted and since they were all like that he either hit or missed and no one cared about the misses cause he had depth just like them.

I do. He had a whole year + spring wiped out from a knee inury. He was always going take a year or two to develop but that just set him back even more. I've got high hopes for a swing tackle role this year and starting next year.

I didn't even notice. Guess I just never come across it. But for me they'll only be one dinosaur. Is the one in Manhattan good? If so I'll go check it out. Used to like the one in Syracuse. We'd go for a team dinner every time we were in Syracuse. Then we'd go to bars in armory square i think it was called. Literally all there was to do

Yep, Armory Square. I’ve spent a lot of time at Benjamin’s up there in Armory square. SU had SOME talent for sure.

As for Dinosaur…
I can’t emphasize enough, TRASH. Anyone who thinks that is good quality bbq would pass out and faint if I took them to some places in Texas. It is not even the same universe.

If we would have got wrecked five years before we did it would have been a very different conversation. Myself I love CMR not only for the man that he is as he is truly an amazing person but also the things he's done for this university and my family itself. I wish you guys would have got the same ability to see him and his vision for what it could have and should have been. Custom confuse his results with the joke that is Mandy Diaz is a travesty itself

Under CMR was the first time in a decade plus i felt like we were run by a professional who knew what he was doing and how to get the results… unfortunately he got sick and it fell apart after 17 but man it felt like we were going to turn a corner and get it rolling again with at least 10 games being the standard again.

Comparing any BBQ outside of Texas to Texas BBQ just isn’t fair. Im not defending Dinosaur - never had it - but those Texas boys know wtf they’re doing.

Yea definitely was a project initially but thing that gives me hope is he stuck it out and didn't leave, just grinding and taking coaching everyday
