He got an opportunity and took advantage of it. He played well, definitely has better instincts and is after than Kirby.

Young hits too hard, runs faster and doesn't trust the process! Hence, why he didn't play much until injuries set in at LB!

No he hasn't. He's playing out of position. Way better last year on the weak inside. This year he's guessing and looked like Jimmy Gaines in the middle.

Get the F$%k out of here with that crap. No he hasn't. He constantly takes bad angles, mis reads the plays, gets lost in coverage, blows tackles etc etc. I hope he heals up and gets better but the kid is a JAG

not a JAG but has been grohdenized. should be playing at a lower weight and who doesn't look lost in this defense at one time or another?

Why this kid hasn't been starting ahead of McCord and Kirby is Flucking unbelievable. Kid has speed, instinct and knows how to tackle and not get caught up in the wash. I felt like our defense had a different vibe once he came in and made a few big plays.

not saying much when hardly anyone is getting TFL's and sacks on this team. if this were a Butch coached team or even a randy shannon coached defense then you would be making a statement.
 
Kirby should never see the field again. Case closed. Young is the new started. Unless we take unreliable McCord off the field. He is trash.
 
Young is better than Kirby at MLB... Kirby is too soft for that position. WLB is more his skillset he would be better in a traditional 4-3 defense. Kirby is still solid, but Juwon Young stands out on the field.

I meant at that position but i also wonder why we play him so much he cant set the edge at all
 
It's been so long since we've had a real deal ball-hawking Linebacker that we forgot what they look like.
 
I was really down on JYoung..But I was wrong. He looked good. So all is not lost. Shaqs dad would say not to sleep on JYoung. That his son was not just be able to walk into Greentree and take his job.

All of a sudden a LB unit of Owens-Young-Grace doesnt look so bad for next year! (provided Owens comes back 100%)

yep, I get it - I misspoke.

regardless, my point remains...AQM, Jenkins, Moten, Thomas, Toolbox, Grace, Young, Bush, Carter, Elder, Artie, et al..that is a solid list of future pros, imo. Defense should be lights out, provided a good coach comes.
