Ivey sucks

Nah I like this thread. I’m tired of hearing the constant BS spewed each off season by ppl that Ivey has showed out in camp. Dude is a dud. Can’t tackle, soft, gets beat in coverage. Someone has to step up and take his spot. I don’t know who we have but **** put Avantea Williams or anyone out there they got to be better
That’s not my point. During the game these comments should be in the game thread which is why the board is ordinarily locked. That’s not your fault, that’s CIS’ fault for not locking the board as usual. I have no problems with this thread itself.

I know I am beating a dead horse here, but it’s just mind boggling that we can’t steadily recruit good corners.

DMoney every off-season getting ready to hype up DJ Ivey.
I'm not the guy who named him captain and starter.

We all see what happens in the games. My job is to tell you guys what happens in practice and what the coaches are saying. That way, you aren't surprised when DJ Ivey is starting for his third consecutive DB coach.

My personal analysis of Ivey the past two years has been: great practice player, good kid, thinks too much in games, needs to tackle better and play with more confidence if he's going to be on the field. That opinion is separate from the fact that he came out of camp the unquestioned starter.

This kid is scared by the big stage. There can be no other explanation as to why he has year-over-year been placed as a starter when his output looks like it does to those that can’t watch practices. He had one good play the entire day (was in position as the third guy on the bubble screen and did his job). Other than that, he got abused all day by Bethune Cookman. I am curious as to how he would evaluate his play if given the chance.

Well, let the questions begin lol. Kid is complete trash.

Last part wasnt emphasized enough, in podcast it sounded like you were in agreement with what I guess were coaches assessments, there was no balanced thought, just praise. The guy not only looks bad, he looks bad against lower competition. I dont have to look at bama highlights to call out Ivey. Can pull out GT, UAB and now Bethune just off top of head. He just doesnt have it, I dont know why its soo hard for people to move on, its been 5 years, you cant save every player.. We got like 8 cbs, find someone else.

It’s obvious there’s a delta between practice and game time for Ivey.

I’m hoping he’s seeing or will start to see a sports psychologist. It may help him gain confidence as the season progresses.

A tale of two drives.... First drive with Flagg, Steed and Ivey on the field Bethune goes right down for a FG.... Second drive with all 3 off the field the Defense actually plays like a Defense.... Me personally will be shocked if all 3 start next week... I mean I just can't see it... Or I should say I don't wanna see it...

Edit - Wrote TD at first... meant to say FG...fixed it..

They will all 3 start, one of them got defensive player of game.. For some reason a player can get benefit of doubt no matter what they put on film

Three of the most beloved kids by coaches in program history are 3 of the fans biggest concerns it’s crazy

Yea I saw that with Flagg... Didn't know 4 tackles from your STARTING MLB warrants player of the game.... 4 tackles... Ray Lewis and Dan Morgan are dry heaving somewhere right now...LOL!!!

Unlike the previous staff, I hope this one can recognize when a player needs their snap count diminished in favor of a more productive player regardless of his age. Notice that production is sometimes more important than talent and Ivey has shown he is less productive in games. Next game is important for other DBs to get burn in preparation for TAM.
