Assuming Herman says no and the admin doesn't want Butch, my top two are Pruitt and Fuente.

Pruitt had problems staying away from bars and girls in Tally, no? And he's whined about facilities at UGA. Can't fathom him thinking UM was up to par.

I am not feeling the Pruitt love. Defensive coach who will most likely be conservative offensively.
Seriously who gives a **** if the HC is a recruiter or not. I want someone who will win the game with Xs and Os alone. Win and the recruits will come naturally, thats the greatest thing about being in Miami...Even a bad recruiter can finish with a top10 class. Plus the HC could always hire good positional recruiters. Everyone always makes a bigger deal than it is about having a HC that can recruit. Trust me if we hire a big name guy that is a great coach AND PROVEN at high levels of competition, it'll basically recruit itself.
Do you think Jim Harbaugh or Nick Saban need to be "good" recruiters? NO. They just go out there and win, and everyone wants to play for them.
If We have a chance in **** to get Chip Kelly, Hue Jackson, Chud, etc I want them without a doubt. **** going after Fuente, or the next "up and comer" I want someone who is already there, and I don't have to wait another 5 years to see if he's going to be a bust.
I'm bullish on Herman, not Fuente. But this line of thinking is incredibly flawed. Florida has found out in 5 games that McElwain was the right hire, not 5 years. And he sure as **** fit that "up and comer" description you're lobbying against. UF's going to lose a few games this year, but they're already ahead of schedule in their rebuild because he's already proven he can win before even getting his own players in there.
It's also worth noting that pretty much everyone realized Golden was a bust after 3 years, not 5. It's just that our administration is so apathetic/incompetent that they've thrown 2 additional years away because Golden's contract was foolishly extended after a six-win season and they were too cheap/stubborn to admit their mistake.

Thats ****ing flawed logic right there. So we could tell what Brady Hoke was 5 games into his tenure? Maclwain is far from a sure deal......lets revisit this in about 3 years. Plenty of coarch in that redneck.

I'd love to see what an offensive innovator could do with the talent he'd have access to within 5 minutes of his office at UM.

Herman is much more proven than Fuente. And yes, I know Golden was a bust by year 3. But it honestly doesn't matter until the administration realizes it. Because if it takes the administration 5 years to move on to the next person, its still wasting the same amount of time. And whether you like it or not, Fuente is infinitely riskier than a guy like Chip, or anyone with a solid NFL pedigree. I think Herman would be a good hire. But not even close to the level that Hue, Chud, or Chip are

Please elaborate on your opinion that a guy who's coached 5 games is more proven than a guy who built a program from the ground up, and has a 12 game winning streak ...
I get that Herman is fresh off of a natty ... But what Fuente has done with Memphis is amazing!

Fuente is Al Goldens competitive brother
