It's a start... Perry and Weldon get reps with the 1s (today's practice)

I think you're right that the receivers want to make a change. I talked to the father of one of our starting WR's before the game on Sunday, and that was the impression I got. Obviously I'm not going to say who, because that's his business.

Did he give any indication of who the players are in favor of?

As we know by now as UM fans, coaches are far from infallible in their roster evaluations. This is the same Rick who signed guys like Park and Ramsey and Bauta at QB instead of Deshaun Watson and Cam Newton.
True. I'm also at the point where I don't even care if Perry or Weldon are as bad as Rosier. At least there is room for improvement with those two guys. And if they are legitimately worse, then go with the true freshman. Rosier already hit his ceiling.

Hey, tell Mr. Richards I said "Hi" next time you see him...

We know Rosier can't play QB! Let future begin with Perry and Weldon get comfortable against Sav St before facing a big time foe. Time for Perry better arm, accuracy and Athleticism be our QB. Ain't nobody including Richt, telling me anybody worse than Rosier. Perry's phuckups can't be any worse than we already have.

I'm not convinced that he's sticking with Rosier. I still think a lot of it has to do with keeping the locker room happy, and that once Perry (and it will probably be Perry) proves himself under the bright lights of a real game, then Richt will have the cover to make a change.

But you don't want to divide the locker room, and I get that. I think he's trying to make a QB change in a tactful way.
I think it is as simple as this. Fans are ****ed, and rightfully so. But as many have said, to flat out bench Rosier (i) shows Richt was wrong to have him as QB1 all along, and (ii) gifts Perry/Weldon/Williams the job, when they haven't done enough to step up and earn it. It sounds like Rosier has been putting in the most work, and Richt respects that (and wants it from the younger guys).

My guess is that Richt is going to have a come to Jesus talk with Perry and ask/tell him "If I hand over the keys to you, will you take this job seriously?" Rosier got the nod vs LSU for a lot of reasons, but will now be phased out. I guessed the same thing in the prediction thread in August.

Man, I want you to be right in the worst way!!! I so hope that Richt is going to do what you wrote. I just don't think he will. Unfortunately, just like when he had the slowest WR on the team returning kicks in his 1st year, we have to wait for graduation to do what Richt should already be doing.

can't you play in the first 4 games and still RS ? I thought that rule took place this year.If this is the case then there's no reason why JW ain't on the field at ;least getting game experience for the future.

It's ANY 4 games throughout the season.

What hes hoping for is that Malik can use these next "gimmie" games as confidence boosters. Malik runs off confidence. Hes like a streaky shooter. When hes on hes on, when hes off its a **** show. Hes really off right now and might need a confidence boost which I am sure Richt is banking on.

Confidence, that's one of the oldest sports adage for an explanation of how someone very mediocre can have a decent game.

I prefer to call a spade a spade. Everyone can have a good game or moments, but you have to look at the entire picture. If you do that with Rosier, the overwhelming picture isn't pretty.

That picture of Malik is the sight of a guy who knows the fat lady is about to sing. His time is done.
Feagles better be getting less reps or w/e the **** punters do in practice.

I'm just glad Richt isn't down playing or defending this guy. He should have actually done a QB competition instead of this Malik hype tour. I'm sick and tired of hearing how improved a unit or player is EVERY off-season then when the season starts it the same **** problem.

Al Golden even after getting canned is still hurting this team with all the crap he left behind on the OL and on defense.
This team won’t be better until Golden’s bargain bin JAGS are all gone. Still. like Swiss cheese. Many, many holes and not very deep.

It's sadass Savannah State. They should alternate days of getting reps. Reps isn't going to solve Rosier's issues. I'm not even convinced if we had Mayfield from OU last year that it would've mattered. The problem is deeper than QB talent, it's a problem with Richt and his archaic scheme as well as the playcalling itself. There are other issues, players arent perfect, but I would put more of it on the coaches for sure.

If youre not well versed in this team, its capabilitie,s and richts playbook then stfu.

Archaic scheme?
What is old fashioned about any of our offense?

Please, ill wait.

Youre a plum fuqin idiot if you think our problems go deeper than QB.

Our problems start and end with bad qb play.

Stop it. Just stop. This arrogant pretty boy Maleak Throwsier Gameaway is far from lacking confidence. His smug confidence shines through while he blames JT$4 for being too fast and his own WR1 wanting to smack his man bun off.

This guy has been exposed and can not throw the ball well against man coverage with no threat of a run game.
It has nothing to do with confidence or streaks.

Narduzzi exposed him and the script is out man.

Stop maing excuses for Malik.

No, the QB and OL coaches are terrible along with Richt's play calling.

Brown and Dugans are top tier position coaches IMO. Good coaches and excellent recruiters.

It Searels and Richt jr. who is stealing money. Not recruiting a QB? You kidding me? and Our center said we weren't prepared for what LSU this game.

The entire offensive staff is green as goose **** , especially at putting in a game plan.

We have co oc’s, bi qb coaches and transgender passing game coordinators. We have all kind of cute titles but nobody who knows an x from an o. Brown / Harley recruit well and give cute interviews but I’ve seen nothing to show any of them know schematics.

We just overpaid for recruiters, with cute titles.

And don’t even get me started on Hartleys god awful st’s. Maybe we should get a co- st’s coach or punting coordinator.

You’re exactly right. This is the beginning of the end for Rosier and he knows it. Both Perry or Weldon will get significant run against SS but if both struggle, then he can rely on Rosier to start against Toledo, while continuing to get the young guys ready. If either of them shine, they will get more PT against Toledo and if they do good there, that QB will definitely start FIU to prepare for FSPoo.

If neither of those guys can take the starting job from Rosier, prepare to see Williams get a lot more action going forward, even if it means losing a redshirt. This way you can prepare for your future QB without losing your locker room with a possible loss to a ****** team.

This is something I just can't get past. The entire offensive staff have had more than 8 months to evaluate the quarterback play, which led them to decide that MR should have been the starter. Then, after exactly one practice (today), all of a sudden the young guys have gotten good enough to throw them out there and let them sink or swim? I feel like I'm living in an effing alternate universe.

Maybe I just don't read between lines very well. Is coach saying that nobody was good enough to play against LSU but now that we're past that game, there's nobody on our schedule for the next few weeks that will provide enough of a challenge to keep the young guys off the field?

I wanted Rosier benched as of halftime of Sunday.

However, I can see a strategy by CMR that allowed Rosier to start and IF he did well against LSU with our 2018 softer than usual schedule ride Rosier into the ACC championship. This strategy doesn't trow the freshman QBs into the fiery LSU defense immediately, plus CMR knew a while back that Perry would be suspended.

The follow up of said strategy is: that IF Rosier laid an egg against LSU, CMR would slowly play the freshman in games 2 thru 4, with a new starter named for the North Carolina game.

I hope that this was his thinking... I would have done the same!.

That said, why did give Rosier 3 reps with the first team today?, I would give one rep to Rosier and give the other 4 reps to freshman QBs.

I remember Thomas Brown saying that's all He's good at, struggles making the intermediate reads & throws.

We don’t have those...

That’s for those fancy west coast offenses and that Fancy Spread stuff they run at Ohio State.
