Is there a WR1 on this team?

Restrepo was our guy on 3rd down last year. Is that the definition of a WR1? If not, we did not have a WR1 last year.

There is no one I would qualify as a WR1 on the roster. Someone could emerge, JoJo or CJ could take a significant step, but no one who you should responsibly trust, especially with a new QB. They aren’t so good that even Will Howard could get them the ball.

There is no proven track record of developing talent on the team into WR1s, stretching back to before Mario. Restrepo’s production is an outlier, I give him a majority of the credit for his production. Few players work that hard anymore.

Ahmmon had the best potential of the last 15 years, Hurns walked so X could run. Rambo is the best example of a rental who had an impact, but remember he was kind of a bust through the first half of the season. He made his name in the second half of the year. Maybe someone charts that path in 2025.

KJ played above himself, but we aren’t asking “who is going to be the most productive in 2025”, we are asking “Is there a #1?” Who is the last guy a DC watched film of and said, “we have to do something different or he will beat us by himself”? That’s a #1 WR, and we don’t have anyone who provokes fear like that on our team. At least not today.

Rambo was not a WR1, neither was restrepo. We haven't had a true WR1 since Ahmon Richard. Before Ahmon, you got to go way back for a true WR1. Probably Dre. We've had some other solid WR, but not many dominant WR1 in a long time

The interesting thing to me is that there aren't many true No. 1 receivers in CFB heading into this year. It is Smith and then Williams and then a big drop off before you start talking about guys like Jordyn Tyson and Antonio Williams and Bryant Wesco, etc.

Most mock drafts have Germie Bernard as the first receiver off the board next season, which I think says more about the lack of top end talent at the position than it says about Bernard.

Say what you want but our room is full of slots. The body types are like tweeners at wr as far as skill set. We have small and smaller bodies. Most quicker than fast others neither. Some who are solid route runners but aren't long or athletic enough to win at the catch point. No freaks or big time separators who can win on vertical routes with speed and size or take a short pass and go 60-70 yds.

Lsu OSU gets complete wrs who can win at each level of the field. They find 3 or 4 wrs who can run by you and stack you...high point the football or catch a screen and be a threat to get that yac. I don't see any one in our room that can stretch the field consistently or attract extra attention from safties. Short pass game ..lots of underneath routes..outs...drags...screens. Last yr we did most of our damage vs zone coverage. Teams that manned us up slowed the pass game down.

If we’re depending on our undersized TE to be our best playmaker. You know what NVM.

Please define WR1 and what differentiated, in football terms, not opinion, the difference between Rambo and AR?

You do realize Rambo holds the UM single season record not only for receptions, but reception yards, right?

Sure. A WR1 to me, is a guy that scares the opposing team. A guy that can score anytime he touches it. A freak athlete. 6'2 or 6'3 with hands and speed. There are exceptions. We have had some good receivers over the years but not many guys like I just described. Rambo had a fine year statistically, so did restrepo. They are not WR1 type guys. There aren't many. AR, Dre, Mike, Reggie, santana. Santana is debatable. Restrepo is statistically the best WR to ever play at Miami. He went undrafted. Stats are fine, but can be deceiving.

There is no comparison with AR and Rambo. AR was WAY better
