Is there a WR1 on this team?

This is just another mismanaged portal haul from Mario and co.

I mentioned in one thread when we started getting all the DBs that it seemed like we were overcorrecting there during winter window.

The DB room was so bad they put a ton of focus on that position group. To turnaround in the spring portal window and find out we're STILL looking for a Nickel in the spring haul. Like wtf are we doing?

To have that happen multiple years in a row is highly questionable. I felt like a crazy person when I'd be asking last year why we were not taking another veteran Safety. Especially when people were saying Meesh was a better nickel. It seemed overlooked then and it clearly was.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a decent portal haul. But we had some very clear holes to fill that EVERYONE knew about in December. To leave some of those questions still very much unanswered is concerning.
Mario has proven to be consistent at 1 thing…. Being a year behind which leads to collapses…. Bet the house it will happen again this year

I'm more worried about DT than WR.

But even though we may not have a day 1 WR, the WR group has talent and depth.

WR: CJ Daniels/Josh Moore/Chance
WR: Jojo Trader/NY Carr/Keelon Marion
Slot: Malachi Toney/Ray Ray/Tony Johnson

And honestly, I expect Elijah Lofton to be an elite pass catching weapon for us and will finish in top 3 receiving yards on the team.

Trader was highly sought after-

He needs to produce it’s that simple-

I have a feeling Toney is going to be balling early.

Jojo needs to be that guy… jojo was looking real good in that first half with cam throwing him the ball and didn’t skip a beat with Horton being gone.

Only thing that sucks is we didn’t have any semblance of QB play this spring to help our WRs grow with beck being out with injury

Restrepo was a WR1, just in a different package.

Everybody knew he was getting the ball and he still made the play. Plus, he was way more of a big play threat than your average slot (16+ YPC).
I can vibe with that

Not a traditional WR1 but no question every DC we faced had his name circled. He was bracketed like he was a WR1 quite a bit

Probably before you even picked up a weight

Agree it worked out that way. I don't think going into the season we would have said X is our WR1
