Vandy has nothing to do w NIL. Lol. Vandy went 7-6 last yr; they hit on a JUCO QB who’s old enough to be some of ya’ll pops, bruh. Lol.
U guys r over reacting off of 4 games, & quite frankly I’m a bit shocked. U see a big time kid commit to some of these obscure schools like we haven’t seen this pre NIL. I mean my God, the #2 WR in the nation, Stefon Diggs, committed to Maryland in 2012. Travis Hunter, the #1 player in the nation, committed to HBCU Jackson St in 2022.
I feel there’s more wishful thinking vs. reality. Indiana has a **** good coach, & anyone who knows me on this board knows I was singing Cigneti’s praise before the Hoosier’s job. Unfortunately, the other issue is some of u r conflating great coaching w NIL parity.
Let’s examine ur Texas Tech example; they r trying to pay for guys, great, & the moment I see them in the Top 5, then I’ll say “boy, they r really evening the playing field.” Until then, it’s a cool story.
Oh, here’s anothetr secret, TT has been paying for kids on the low for a while. They just didn’t have the same amount of boosters like UT, SMU, but oil $$ flowed through there. My young frat brother played w Pat Mahomes, & I can tell u stories, but that’s not neither here nor there.
They’ve also had top 5-10 guys at their position play for them b4 like Jack Anderson in 2017, but the reason they’ve gotten buzz is b/c they have a brash booster openly saying he’ll pay, yet they still haven’t cracked the top 5, 10, or even 15. Maaaaaybe they can do that in 2027.
