Is the ACC better than we think?

I have to admit you never know what you'll see on CIS. For the past few years of conference expansion, you'd think the ACC was the leper ***** of college conferences from posts on here. One solid bowl season and now it's not so bad. Lol

In preparation for this Ole Miss game and that Texas A&M game, I am glad we played SMU and to some extent FSU. So yes, because of the different looks we have gotten, it appears the ACC has prepared us well for this run.

The ACC is a competitive conference with the most untapped potential ($$$) of any of the majors.

The gap between the conferences used to be a gulf. That abyss has pretty much been eliminated. There's space, but its reachable.
I think y ou are also watching other schools in the conference pull some $$ together and bring in a higher caliber of player.
The QB play and coaching has always been there.

Not what I read.

Its still a leprose *****, leadership wise. The ACC talent is just more skilled with their tongues than we realized.

The ACC is the ultimate matchup based conference. No other conference has teams switching up personnel and strategy as much as they do.

It's good for conference play and **** for everything else

Just my opinion the ACC is a one team league this year. Yes the conf has done well in bowl games. I am not sure any other team would have won a playoff game. Bowl games with opt outs and teams not wanting to be there is not a great way to measure a conf success. Use the games that mean something to judge. I think Miami almost being left out of the playoffs was because of the strength of the ACC conf.

Acc other than miami right now what does it have to offer for football. Fsu is currently trash .. Clemson is back to mediocrity..

The ACC is not on same level as P2. No other ACC team would have got past 1st rd.

There’s just a perfect storm of circumstances right now (below average coaching/coaching turnover)

That said, I think our conference absolutely gives us some ideas on how to limit Ole Miss, especially the Louisville game and their quick hitter/tempo.

Got to think Hetherman pulled out some lessons learned and apply them to Ole Miss.

Get our run game going and they might get impatient and chambliss play hero ball, which I think isn’t a good idea for him because our dline is more discipline in the pass rush. I don’t see Bain and Mesidor flailing the way UGa dline did.

Just go to the conference realignment thread. There is nothing redeemable for the ACC there.

There is no doubt that the lack of leadership is the ACC's biggest weakness.

I've held this position for a while on the ACC, it's the most dynamic of all the conferences. And I don't mean that the conference is special, just that every team is different....built different, plays different O an D, has different types of players in their recruiting footprint.

We don't face a team that just pounds the ball all game every week. We don't play a finesse team every week. Every week it's something different, with different player builds position over position. So we see more.

Perfect example: I don't think OSU played a bad game(but they did)...I think they played a Big10 game against a non B10 team.

The middle and lower tier teams are equally *** in all of the conferences right now. The top tier we are playing out on the field

There's good coaching. In many ways better than SEC. I think that is the key.
The ACC is exactly what I thought it was - a tough conference that gets no respect.

Looooots of good coaches, lots of good players. The lack of respect comes from the fact that there aren't many 'war daddy' DTs or 5 star WRs walking around, and just a general media bias towards the SEC to justify the massive tv contract they've got.

There are plenty of good players that go on to have productive NFL careers.

ACC is better than national perception, but afraid talent is being further diluted. Conference programs clearly losing better talent in current portal & not replacing it at the same level. It’s obvious & alarming, though probably good for Canes.

The ACC is behind the BIG and SEC but I dont think the gap is as large as its made out to be. The SEC is absolutely not a 400% better conference yet they got 5 teams in the playoffs vs our 1. Thats the issue.

No way in **** should the SEC makeup almost half the field

Think there is an argument that the conference is better this year but it’s still well below the BIG and SEC overall. Let’s see what happens next year.
SEC might be a Mid tier conference now that since they are consistently over rated them “beating up on each other” looks great but it’s actually slop
