Is Miami a desirable job anymore?

Or are we delusional fans? We discuss names like cristobal, kiffin, leach etc..but whats make us think theyll their current situation to come here? Especially considering we cant pay more than what theyre currently making? I understand the fertile recruiting ground argument, but it isnt the 80's or 90's anymore, all the big schools seem to pluck the best talent out of south florida (there are a few exceptions).
Only opinion I've got is: From an AD and head coach perspective, we'll know the answer to this question after this offseason.

By the time spring football starts, we'll have gotten clarity on who we are and how attractive we are as a program.

It's only desirable to CIS, the delusional alumni, and morons who say this school has money, but just needs a willingness to spend it. LMAO

To top tier HC’s? No.

To G5 coaches looking to get a pay raise & increase in profile? Yes.

Or for coaches looking to rebuild their rep as HC’s like Herman or Freeze? Yes

To coaches who are already at better programs with more money? Absolutely not.

It's not desirable now for the traditional college coaching candidate, and never has been quite frankly. If you are a coach looking for a place full of tradition with full stands each week, even against cupcake teams, this is not the job for you. If you want a loyal fanbase who will always be with you and make $8 million+ a year, not the place for you.

However, if you are a guy who can recruit, just want to win, and are looking to build your resume for a NFL job down the line, this is the place for you. First things first though, Miami needs to bring in an AD who can recognize the unique assets that the university offers and can sell them to the appropriate coaching candidate.

When ppl ask this…I wonder if you follow any other program besides Miami.

There are truely very few “elite” jobs.

Even a job like Clemson…they’ve only had success under one coach and aren’t in a fertile recruiting area.

Is Miami in that super exclusive A teir no.

But we are definitely in the B tier and shouldn’t have a problem getting a qualified coach.

Assuming the person making the hire actually knows what good football looks like .

in my opinion it will likely be someone "unproven" because we cant afford a big name guy

Doubt it at this point. But luckily for us, we have some good young players that the new staff can work with.

I forget which publication (I think it was The Athletic) just did an anonymous poll of coaches and administrators in cfb to rank the best HC jobs in cfb. UM came in at #11. This despite sucking for 15 years. So yes, it is still desirable. With James gone and a commitment from UM to spend money it would be one of the most desirable.

The guy who brings Miami back will over shine anything else in college fb. They talk about us constantly at 5-5 imagine at 10-1

Our program is dead to most of the country, we may act like we care but outside of us, our voice is minimal. This job isn’t as attractive to most of the country as we think.

We play in a. **** poor division that we should win almost yearly based upon talent alone.

Most fertile recruits in our backyard

Super bowl stadium.

Pro-like sports town.

Miami is a great olace to live if you are rich

Money talks. Will we spend is the question.

What about for schools. Like Kentucky and Ole Miss?

Some like both those guys, but when it's time to go all in, they have a bigger pile to push than we do.

Question is with them, what are their long term goals and can we be a part of that? I don't know and this hire may answer that question.

I think at best, we're a mid level P5 job. We haven't proven otherwise, but we'll see with this hire I guess.

Unfortunately, NO.
This is where coaches and coordinators come to die. ( And they know it )
Any established coach knows to stay far far away from this place.
