It’s on the coaches to play the right guys. They’re not getting paid millions to have the best practices; they’re getting paid to win games, and you do that by playing the best guys and putting them in the best possible system and motivating the fck out of them.Is it possible that other receivers were outplaying the starters in practice but the coach just totally missed it? I guess so. It’s more feasible than the bull**** seniority conspiracy that people here believe. What’s the MOST likely scenario? The other guys weren’t outplaying the starters in practice. The backup quarterback is always better than the starter until he actually gets in the game. Coaches aren’t always right but they tend to know a **** of a lot more about their players than some fan who only watches games on tv.
I’m tired of “but yeah Plop was better in practice because that’s what it has to be.” After a million clutch drops and making nothing happen in games, it’s time to adjust no matter what kind of practice hero those guys might be.
Then on top of all this Plop/Wiggins practice hyperbole, didn’t coaches openly dog the vet WRs midseason for not working hard?
