Is Keyshawn Smith our best WR

He must have forgotten that the Big 12 initially voted to cancel or postpone it's entire 2020 season and didn't decide to play until five weeks later in mid-September. They didn't just lose most of their spring practices, they lost a huge chunk of their summer, too.
He’s not a football fan. He’s a Manny fan. He couldn’t name 3 players on Oklahoma’s team.

I’m picturing the meme image of the guy checking out the other girl while his g/f has that abhorrent expression on her face.

Guy = Likens
Pretty girl = Mims
Angry g/f = Pope

What’s this myth that he flashed last year? He had 2 catches. He will be a nice player but he didn’t ball out like that.
Are you kidding me?? U didn’t see him get those 2 PI,s and that catch that was 5 yards out of bounds vs OKSU????

So if Smith or any other WR starts taking playing time from Pope and Wiggins in 2021 is it because:

a) they improved and Likens trusts them more?

Or b) Likens just decided that he’s not BFF with Pope and Wiggins anymore?

lol this dude still claiming conspiracy theories and can’t accept the fact that coaches make personnel mistakes all the fcking time that have nothing to do with them being BFF with anyone.

How about all the nfl teams that draft the wrong guys? Is that a dopey conspiracy too or just human error?

Note to coach worshippers: Coaches aren’t infallible. The key is getting ones who make the least amount of mistakes. Same with any other industry in the world.

If fans have a beef with Likens not being able to teach freshmen everything during the allotted time last year, I can understand that frustration. He was the coach and it's his job to have his guys prepared. ****, if people want to bash Payton for not getting a leg up on the incoming freshman last year, I can even agree with that to an extent. But the ridiculous idea that they purposely sit the younger guys to the detriment of the team just because Likens has some kind of attachment to two receivers he didn't recruit or have any prior relationship with is nonsense.
I agree with u on the younger WRs maybe not doing enough to get playing time in the regular season... which is sad if they truly weren’t prepared with Wigs and Popes playing like hot garbo.

However how do u explain the bowl game? Wigs drops a sure TD and Pope had a long pass drop. When Smith was out there he made an amazing catch in the end zone (where he was just led too far out of bounds). Why wouldn’t they try him more and instead trot back out those clowns and then Popes has the biggest drop at the end to lose the game?

When wigs dropped that slant I said... get this ***** outta the game.

Ain’t no logic to this **** mane..we got a whole thread that shows clear favoritism going within the fan base..but yea it’s a coach who ain’t recruit these guys showing favoritism 😂

Is it possible that other receivers were outplaying the starters in practice but the coach just totally missed it? I guess so. It’s more feasible than the bull**** seniority conspiracy that people here believe. What’s the MOST likely scenario? The other guys weren’t outplaying the starters in practice. The backup quarterback is always better than the starter until he actually gets in the game. Coaches aren’t always right but they tend to know a **** of a lot more about their players than some fan who only watches games on tv.

Whether they were getting outplayed in practice or not, as long as Smith and Redding were healthy and had a basic understanding of their responsibilities in the offensive, they should have been benched in the second half of the bowl game. And if Smith and Redding weren't ready to play a half of football by late December (Covid or not), then we have bigger problems at WR (both from a player and coaching standpoint).

At a certain point, if starters are not getting it done and being completely ineffective, you need to sit them. No matter what you think you saw them do in practice (against air or the scout team).

There’s been plenty of head scratchers for why Mcloud kept playing and the most egregious being patchan over Rousseau until game 5 or 6. People who have a better memory than me can probably list another 5-10 examples of head scratchers. It’s more than just a conspiracy when it’s been a pattern dude.

IMO it’s a near certainty that the coaches have played a player over another due to seniority/experience. Whether it’s just they trust them more due to avoiding mental mistakes or whatnot... maybe that’s a big factor. But it’s happened and keeps happening.

The guy who picks the rotation at WR has nothing to do with any of the other players you mentioned. He wasn’t even employed by the team when Patchan was here.

The young WRs didn't play as much because of COVID. It's not an excuse, it's the truth.

There was a COVID outbreak the same week Likens blew up the depth chart. It was just bad timing.
That partially makes sense but why not blow it back up when the young guys came back? It's not like Wiggins or Pope did better while they were out. The bowl game specifically was annoying to me.

Nah. No one's allowed to have an opinion on Key because he didn't play much last year, so he must stink. Coaches always play the right guys. Greentree All American! Did I miss any other stupid ****?
He was still adjusting for the time zone change from San Diego, maybe his sleep patterns will be synced up this year

The reason why they were going to open things up is because the fans were on their @sses for playing those two bums! Otherwise they would have never done a thing! That’s facts! & Smith was available the game they said they would play best guys and he got like 15 snaps while Pope and them got 60 plus.

Had times he was open and our QB was running for his life also errant throws on deep balls hurt everyone

There’s a reason they went out and got a transfer receiver in the portal. It’s not because they have a ton of confidence in what they have.

This is, in a sense, a hopeful sign. It demonstrates that at some point the offensive staff did realize Pope and Wiggins are not getting it done. Whether that realization came watching film after the season or during the season, who knows, but at least it is an acknowledgment. We'll know more when depth charts start getting released, but I do consider Rambo's addition cause for guarded optimism.
