Is it just me or is Texas A&M fools gold?

I will have to do a deeper dive on A&M, but in the limited amount I have seen so far what concerns me most are Reed’s ability to move, and their DL. In the few times I have seen them play their DL was creating absolute havoc. Our OL is a strength of course, so this will be a big time matchup and it should be fun to watch. I think they’ll be up to the challenge but it won’t be easy

I agree their schedule doesn’t seem as strong as you would think for a sec team. They did struggle against USCe too.

With that said, they are still a good team and this is a playoff game at their house.

Their QB is also mobile which we have struggled with in the past.

It will be tough. But I like the noon slot for this to one.

And the spread being -3.5 at their place should tell you this is basically a pick em on a neutral field.

QBs faced by Texas A&M this season:

Owen McCown at 6-6 UTSA (38th nationally in passer rating)
Bryson Barnes at 6-6 Utah State (54th nationally in passer rating)
CJ Carr at ND (Went 20/32 for 293 yards with a TD and an INT in his 2nd start. ND scored 41 points)
Jackson Arnold at Auburn (LOL)
Blake Shapen at Mississippi State (LOL X2)
DJ Lagway (LMAO)
Taylen Green at Arkansas (NFL player, went 19/32 for 256 yards and 3 TDs. Ark scored 42 points)
Garrett Nussmeier (hurt and terrible)
Matt Zollers at Mizzou (Backup, starter was hurt, this kid is atrocious)
Sellers at USCe (Not a good passer, went 15/30 for 246 yards 2 TDs and an INT, scored 30 in a half)
Samford QB
Arch at Texas (stop it)

That's absurd. **** near every one of these kids is going pro in something other than sports. And they had THREE interceptions as a team the entire season.

And here comes Carson Beck:

10th nationally in passer rating
2nd nationally in completion percentage
25th nationally in yards per game
16th nationally in yards per attempt
14th nationally in TD passes

With the best pass blocking in America (6th nationally in sacks allowed per game, Army and Navy being 2 of the 5 above us)

I saw that as a team aTm is net -7 in TO margin. That is BAD BAD.

Also, I have seen some ppl say that this will be a shoot out. I completely disagree. Miami hasn't given up more that 24 in regulation, so seeing scores with aTm in the 30's?? Something has to go terribly wrong for that to happen. This feels like a 27-21 or 24-17 type game to me.

Going to be tough. At their house. Refs won’t make it easy.
I actually think because it has to be an independent crew from whatever conference teams are playing in the game, the officiating helps us. Because it won’t be the ACC and it won’t be the SEC refs.

Was telling a buddy of mine that I think Beck comes locked in. This is his second chance at playing himself into a first round pick. I expect him to take care of the ball and make good decisions. With A&Ms DL I don’t think we will find a ton of running room, but we should be able to give Beck enough time to find open receivers. I think it’s going to be a day where we lean more on the pass

We have to treat A&M like they're the best team ever to take the field. Then we have to do the same with OSU. We have to bring our A game and make ever effort to beat them to a pulp on both sides of the ball.

We really haven't been able to run the ball well, or at least not explosively, against anyone, but their DL isn't great. Wisner from Texas just got 8.2 a carry on them on 19 runs. Mizzou, playing with a corpse at QB due to injury, had two backs go over 100. Hardy (who is awesome) went 13 for 109 and a TD. LSU's run game is abysmal, and their 2 backs combined for 14 carries for 95 yards.

Their run defense is not very good. I expect us to do what we do, which is play methodically, keep the A&M offense off the field/our defense fresh, and keep manageable situations. Just don't have offensive penalties and don't turn the ball over and we'll be fine.

Yeah, Miami hasn't really been in a shootout all year. It's not our MO this year. Win or lose, it's probably not going to be a 41-38 game. I think it'll be your stereotypical physical SEC type grind of a game.
