Is Carson Beck officially a Canes legend?

The enigma Carson Beck....

Depends on your criteria..imo

He won big and lost big, but he is a huge part of the brand and lore of UM.

Edge won nothing here but put up great
Numbers for multiple yrs .no transfer portal..RB U status.

Willis was at UM for two yrs but only one great yr and now Is in hot water with UM but he help UM to the natty. And is apart of RB U legend status. What is he?

What is cam? Gave UM the best statistical yr of any cane legend qb as well as help the brand of UM,but we got in the pop tart bowl at the end. one yr transfer, but cam has the IT factor.

Do you hate the player or the game when it comes to transfer portal? Is this strictly longevity criteria?

Jimmy Kelly best yr at UM was 14 td 14 int or go with his 11 td 7 int but kelly is considered a legend because the owl hand picked him to help build the brand and he is a integral part of QB U and a legend.

Na not a legend but a real Cane. I put him in the Kayaa category but just under Berlin.

Cam
Dorsey
Berlin
Beck
Kayaa
Rosier

I struffle to not put Cam #1 bc he had that crazy season and got drafted first overall
Need to be careful here because Brock's second half performance against The Gator is legendary. This overall poor performance against Virginia Tech and Tennessee costed us a national title in 2003. That defense was as good as any one we've had. Still love the guy.

I will say Carson's 4th quarter performance against Ole Miss was legendary. He was carving up Indiana in the second half. Flat pass yes but I still don't understand the play call. We were carving up the middle of the field because they were in Cover 2. Plenty of time to run off 5 to 6 plays.

While everyone is entitled to their own opinion they are not entitled their own facts.
What do you mean he accomplished way more than him at Miami?
He won 3 playoff games, man. We made it to the national title. We missed the playoffs last year. I’m not talking about individual stats; I’m focusing on what the team accomplished with him at the helm.

With the natty win for sure, with the natty loss but no game-ending pick then probably, with the natty loss plus the game-ending pick hmmmm tough call. I’d still say yes.
The only answer is yes. got us to the National Championship is when the argument against collapses on itself.

But for more clarity:

Won 13 games which fortified us as a consistent winner and a conference/national power
Beat "blue blood" teams in A&M and OSU
Lead two TD drives in the final mins of the Ole Miss game
Was one bad pass away from taking the lead in the national championship game
Did all of this with only one weapon in true freshman Toney.

Jim Kelly is the best QB ever to play for Miami. Everyone else is playing for 2nd.

Solid player. Good teammate and he handled himself professionally. But he isn’t a great player, let alone a Miami legend. He does certain things really well but Shannon Dawson had to tailor a lot of the offense to fit his limited skill set. When Dawson would start getting aggressive with the pass calls, Beck would eventually pit the ball in harm’s way. It’s why he is prone to throwing game ending interceptions. In a vacuum, where time isn’t an issue and we could mix the run game with the short pass game, Carson Beck is an assassin. If time is an issue and we can’t just methodically dink and dunk, he was an interception waiting to happen.

Sad thing is, a half-decent block on that blocked punt and we likely wouldn't have been making that throw. Woulda-coulda-shoulda, but the team put us in that position to win it, and put us in the position to lose it.

No.

Regardless of his stats at Miami Jim Kelly is the best Qb to come out of Miami.
Next is Vinny T followed by Bernie Kosar. Next would be Ward then Walsh followed by erickson.

I consider Miami career but put more into NFL production which is big boy football. If you can do it in the league you can do it in college. Not gonna penalize a guy cause his team sucked or his coach was trash here at Miami.

Beck may crack the top 10 depending on what he does in the NFL. Still could crack it if he ends up being trash. just dont care enough to think about it.
