Is Carson Beck officially a Canes legend?

He will always be beloved and remembered for giving us a special run that brought back feelings we haven’t had since KD was under center. The problem with “legend” status is that the stage is pretty crowded between a guy who first put us on the map by upsetting Penn State (and went on to play in 4 straight Super Bowls and received a gold jacket to also make him a legend at the next level), 3 guys who won Heisman trophies, a guy who went 38-2 (or 39-1 but I digress) with a NC, and 2 other guys who won NCs while leading legendary teams through epic games in ‘87 and ‘89.

To me he’s like a Brock Berlin, who forever cemented his “beloved “ status with the epic comeback vs the Gator, but his run through the playoff into the final gives him the leg-up above Berlin.

My list of Cane all time Qbs
Walsh
Dorsey
Kelly
Erickson
Testeverde
Torreta
Cam
Beck
Berlin
Kaaya
Based on results and some just cause I liked them!
cam is 1. he was our best QB ever imo.

beck isnt a legend. he did represent the program well and made some big time plays in the playoffs. at the end of the day, the D and run game carried beck and the team

What’s your argument for having him below Berlin? Just curious.
I remember Brock as a gamer. Honestly the UF win made Berlin my favorite qb ever at the time. I’m not a professional evaluator of talent so take my rankings with a grain of salt. Those are just my opinions.

Really a great list of QBs to list in anyone's favorite order

Great Cane? Absolutely! Legend?? No. Now if he had continued to march us down the field and threw a dot to CJ Daniels or whoever for a TD with 2 seconds on the clock to put the dagger into Indiana's heart and give us the Natty then yes definitely a legend.

Not for me at least. Don't get me wrong, I respect him A LOT. He won me over after the Ole Miss game, and this playoff run was amazing. I’ll remember that 4th quarter for a loong time

But I don’t like his QB style, and I felt like he put a cap on our O at times. That’s not all on him, our receiving options (Toney excluded) were mid as ****, especially Daniels and Bauman. As for the pick that ended the game, I respect him for going for the kill, it was just an awful throw at the worst possible moment

A good player who gave us great memories and an incredible run, just not a personal favorite.

Legend’swin Naty’s at Miami, so no. I will say he will be part of the reason we clawed our way back through the hole to national prominence. Pro bowler yes hall of famer sadly no. Had a chance at it just came up short. I have wondered since the national title what if we had a healthy Beck. I do think he would have been an all timer!

In terms of the last 30 years, he’s clearly on our quarterback Mount Rushmore. Sucks how it ended, but his play down the stretch and in the playoffs solidifies him as a Cane legend for me

Not a legend but a Cane great.

His numbers may not blow anybody away.

His leadership is where he was most impactful.

He obviously meant a lot to this team and these coaches.

I hope he comes around UM a lot post draft and I think he will since he went to local HS games with Fletcher.

And with that being said, **** the Cavinder twin for talking **** on my QB! Men In Black roach alien lookin *** hoe.

This. Had an excellent year with some great moments, but not quite enough to be a legend.

This team was about the DL, the OL and Malachi. And Fletch in the playoffs.

That said, if it weren't for Bauman's **** up, we'd probably be putting him there.

I also don't think his arm was as strong as it was pre-surgery. But we knew that was a risk when we took him.
