IPF- Progress Pics (OP Updated July 10)

Although I’m sure Richt has played a integral role in improving alumni relations, you cannot discount the the effect the change in person who writes the checks has had. Richt didn’t authorize richt’s salary, Frenk did. Frenk gave a lecture to all the sections of the freshman marketing classes about the university’s marketing strategy and in his words “being from Mexico I had never watched an American football game until I came to UM, but even from an outsiders prospective its importance within American culture makes it the greatest marketing tool for universities across the country.” Frenk was instrumental in pushing for game day and paying more for Richt. I think that shouldn’t be ignored given what we came from. Ie shalalalallalalal
I agree and that's why I said I was so happy Miami agreed. According to many, Richt laid out terms or "mutual agreement" that he had to have more money for staff and an IPF to adequately compete in today's landscape. He basically put them on the spot to determine if Miami was actually and finally committed to winning and they answered.

Richt changed everything. I hate to reference the SEC but he brought us up to match their level, as he would put it "within the rules" and I believe it was a requirement by him to take the job. I'm just thankful Miami agreed and I think it's no coincidence this all happened after Shalala left
I think it all started with Adidas, though. Without that massive deal, we might not have the money to pay Richt what he's worth.

Here's what my people told me after they visited the IPF yesterday. You guys probably already know most of this stuff.

There are actually 2 fields inside. One larger and one smaller. I didn't get exact dimensions but it's been discussed here.

The turf just by it's self was somewhere in the neighborhood of $3 million. It's the cutting edge of turf tech. So that $3 million donation barely even covered the turf. (If you haven't sent them a sawbuck or two and you can afford it please do so)

For those worried about the A/C units they work just fine. Was told it's frosty in there.

2-3 months before the offices are ready for move in. They are still basically barren.

Richt will have a 2- story corner office with a balcony on his office as well so he can sit on the veranda and overlook the manor grounds. (with built in PA system in case he want's to yell at a ref or Larry Fedora))

Speaking of the sound system, it's apparently louder than LIV on a Saturday night.

And for everyone worried about the electrical....there have been some problems with breakers tripping but should be resolved shortly. (Prob @GOCANES05 fault)

That's all I got. Sorry if there's nothing earth shattering.

Keep an eye here. I might have a short vid to porst of the IPF if I can talk him out of it.

Edit: OK that should do it.

No. It’s 70 yds (90 including end zones) They didn’t want to lose any of the outside fields where they will be 95% of the time.

Sorry, my question probably wasn't as clear as it should have been. I was actually asking about the width of the field as opposed to the length. I knew the length was shorter, but in some of the pictures, it looked like it might also not be regulation width. Can you confirm whether it's regulation width?

Thanks man!

EDIT: Ignore, you already answered me above. Thanks again!

he asked about width not length. I don't see how it wouldn't be regulation width. That plays into alignment too much. I'm sure it's legit.

It didn't look regulation width in some of the first pictures I saw with the field turf going in, but I saw a new pic today where it did in fact look regulation width. Was just looking for confirmation.

If I read his post correctly, ‘68 must be talking about sideline to sideline, rather than length.

If not, then it’s typical @Canes1968 dry snitching/bltching about something that even the most casual followers of the program have known for a long long time, that the indoor fields were not going to be regulation length but about 20 to 30 yards short, which is more than enough. Look at other IPFs, many don’t have 100 yard field with additional zones. It’s for practice, not the to play an actual game. You can get the same things done as outside...it’s for practice

But you already knew this, so did he, @Canes1968 is a sly troll.

I was asking about the width sideline to sideline, not the length. I knew the length was shorter. Had previously heard it was only 85 yards, but see now that it's actually 90, so that's a pleasant surprise.

I'm not a troll, but you knew that already.

He posted a few posts above that it is regulation width.

Wow I'm very surprised, and happy, that we've raised $39M of the $34M goal. That is awesome news. Lets hope all that additional money can go to stuff that is really good. I'd say priority #1 is ensuring the Weight room has everything it needs. #2 would be making sure that we have everything we need for the trainers - ice baths or hydrotherapy ****, all that kind of **** that could help players stay healthy or recover faster. #3 would be making sure all the technology in the IPF is as good as it gets as far as taping practice goes or watching film in the meeting rooms are concerned. #4 would be all that extra sparkly **** that would go to locker room upgrades or game room bs.

Primarly focus should be on the stuff that really matters for FOOTBALL, as opposed to installing a D&B.

So we have more field space than any other IPF but will get ridiculed for having a funny looking abbreviated main field that everyone sees #OnlyAtTheU

Most likely, but who cares. That's just fan talk. Will be nothing but positive from a recruiting perspective and that's all that matters.

true. do not think kids are not going to come here because the big field inside the multi-field IPF is less than 100 yards. that is what ignorant fools talk about.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I guess it’s regulation width. Thought you caught something to dry snltch about, didn’t you? Didn’t work out for you.

You’re a sly one alright.
