Interesting Manny quote on the Joe Rose show

Its one thing for bama to give up points to the top offense in the last freaking 15 years, did he comment on how he got lit up against a freaking terrible wisky team and their backup qb? RB had over 200 yrds! LMAOOO

Why the **** you take a shot at team that won 5 championships in like 10 years, and you never led a team as HC. WTF

He wasn’t taking a shot at Bama, only a low IQ person would think that.

The point was not Burrows being a great quarterback. The point, is that everybody else was far worse and they wouldn’t have been in a major bowl game without him. Because their record would’ve been 5-7 or 6-6.

They’ve been in better bowl games with worse QBs. I don’t think the difference between 6-6 and them being in a major bowl game was Joe freaking Burrows. But we can agree to disagree. I get your overall point. Transfers can be impactful but I think all programs rather not have to rely on it. Especially with premium positions like QB, OL, and DL which is where we are right now. It’s not a good thing that LSU needed a QB transfer that wasn’t even that good.

I love how everyone is shatting on this comment that D brought up but everyone's hero on this board Leach had one of his best seasons at Wazzu with a transfer QB from ECU!!! yes ECU that owned another board folk hero Butch da gawww once upon a time! lol

Even little Nicky wanted him at Bama as a 3rd string

His comments on the QB situation were interesting as well. I’d be shocked if we did not take a grad transfer QB.

This. When asked about Jarren Williams talent he didn’t even want to answer the question. He is asking to prove it to him. Compete! He doesn’t care about what they did in HS. You know what? He’s right.

"focusing on the transfer market" is a sure fire recipe for FAILURE.

i cant believe anyone with half a football brain would think this is somehow a good thing. its an excuse for not being
able to recruit worth a ****. Diaz is ******* clueless and proving that already.

Meanwhile on the Gayturd and Semenole boards ..........

Leach just won 11 games with a scrap heap QB. Obviously I’d prefer if they can develop their own talent but whatever it takes. Just stop losing to ****** ACC Coastal teams and getting our **** pushed in by any P5 team with a pulse.
Wash St doesn't have the recruiting ground or the resources that Miami has & Leach has never cared about recruiting in his career. Even when he was at TTech he didn't recruit, he's said out of own his mouth he doesn't care for it. They have to rely on the transfers market.

Leach, while a great O mind, would be a flop here due to his lack of recruiting. he also would get run out of town by the HS coaches due to his stupid mouth

you mean how it was a failure for OU? Both Baker and Kyler were transfers.

You only have to rely on transfers when you can't recruit & develop your own talent.

seriously. people are dumb as **** here. OU has turned the transfer QB market into the heisman trophy room. Justin Fields will end up lighting it up at OU or OSU. We'll get another look at Eason next year at Uwash.

don't be stupid please ... you can't build an ENTIRE program by "FOCUSING" on transfers.
my neighbors cat could understand that.

and where is OU going to be on Jan 7 ? sitting at home watching Bama-Clemson on TV.

Sporadically capitalizing on the transfer market is beneficial, but we certainly have to get to a level of consistently sustained recruiting where we're cherry picking a select few players everyone wants rather than relying on grad transfers as starters at key positions.

Our most impactful player on the roster this past season was a transfer addition in Gerald Willis. You also don't turn away someone like Trevon Grimes the way Richt inexplicably did. You pursue the blue-chippers at all costs and I don't think anyone is arguing against that.

But you're not going to compete for conference titles or playoff positioning with transfers like Boulware and Idenigbo logging heavy snap counts in the trenches.
