Interesting Manny quote on the Joe Rose show

Yes, because the two situations are comparable.

There's clear & distinct difference between Miami & Oklahoma.... I'm gonna let you think for a few hours to figure that out.

You only have to rely on transfers when you can't recruit & develop your own talent.
Normally yes but with the new recruiting/transfer rules everyone will be active in the transfer market more than ever. We don’t hear anyone saying osu/Oklahoma can’t recruit or develop talent but they are still going after Justin fields right? There is going to be a second recruiting season pretty soon here across the country as loads of kids will look to explore their options if they aren’t playing or certain situations

don't be stupid please ... you can't build an ENTIRE program by "FOCUSING" on transfers.
my neighbors cat could understand that.

no one is saying you can, but with the new transfer rules, there will be a TON of elite talent available that you simply can't ignore it. OU or OSU will end up getting a five star QB which will be like getting a brand new recruit.

Exactly. Diaz has no business critiquing a Bama team after getting his train run on him IN THE FIRST QUARTER by a 7-6 Wisky club that got bi*ch slapped by mediocre. B1G Clubs.
Don't forget BC,,200yds rushing in 1st quarter..

Oh, okay. Looked like a blanket statement.

So you're saying Miami can't benefit from transfers the way Oklahoma can?

There isn't going to be a ton of elite talent. There will be a kid or two, the rest of them will be kids getting beat out by the elite talent.

Dolphins relied more on the FA market than the draft.
Now Adam Gase is looking for a job..

76 kids. 18 counters used. 9-10 available. 14 Seniors heading into '19 unless more leave early for NFL. Since we only have 3-4 EE types (Martin + 2 freshmen, Kennedy- when does he arrive?), we are looking at having a max of 28 spots for '20.

Sign 7 more kids for '19 to get us to 83 with no more departures. Expect 3-5 more departures so we will play at 75-80 (YET AGAIN) and can sign 27-28 for '20. Or we add 2-3 more kids for 85-86 kids assuming departures. Doubt we can find 9-10 good to elite kids that want in.

GTs are NOT the answer until we can get to 85 kids with extra counters still in the pocket! We don't have that as we are at 76 kids on ship (shouldn't have given Clay James a ship!) and only have 9-10 counters left. Take every '19 kid that wants in and has a pulse, recruit the **** out of the current roster to STAY including Boulware and Homer! It doesn't help us to see kids like Milo, Brown, Knowles, Mahoney, Boulware leave as they don't free up counters for a class, they just free up cap space against the 85 spots.

I fully expect to see Few or another 3rd year walk-on get a ship for '19/'20 as we have the cap space and signing them to a ship doesn't count against that year's counters.

Wats ur feeling on this hire fam
Its progress. Honestly I got nothing against manny and feel hes CAPABLE of doing big things. But hes far more reliant on his staff moves than alot of other coaches would be. Hes keeping 2 offensive coaches and well see on defense. He needs to call plays and change up nutrition & strength people. Conflicting messages about that right now

I’m hoping those two on offense are Hartley and Dugans, and Hartley is no longer touching special teams. Brown, Searles and Jon can take 95 north and never turn around.

Hope it's Hartley (take him off special teams and possibly add recruiting coordinator to his title) and Dugans. I have a suspicion one may be Thomas Brown.
