Manny Navarro wrote a great article for the Athletic on the backup QBs. He interviewed their HS coaches and got some choice quotes. I won't reproduce the whole article but here are some highlights:

On Perry:

“What N’Kosi does on the football field just amazes me,” Farmer said. “He would never let us down. He’s really gifted with that ball in his hands. He’s special. His decision-making with getting the ball to our receivers was amazing to me. It was one of those things where he knew how to make it happen. He could call audibles and make the right decisions. You could trust him. If they were playing man-press coverage, he was going to hit them with that nine route – as long as the receiver beat him off the line. If the safety was playing deep, N’Kosi was going to throw a dig, drag route or skinny post. He just made smart decisions with the ball in his hands. He was also a dual-threat. He could run the ball. That made him twice as dangerous.”

On Weldon:

The other part comes from Cade himself, who transferred from a predominantly white private school in the Tampa area after his freshman season to a vastly different inner-city school and quickly stepped into a leadership role.

“He came in with blond hair, blue eyes and looked different than everybody else did,” Earle said. “I told him he was going to have to do something to earn their respect because they were going to try him. Next thing you know, I hear a ruckus in the locker room. I never really knew what happened, but all of a sudden I saw everybody walking behind Cade Weldon like ducks in a row. He went and gained everybody’s respect, let’s just say that.”

On Jarren:

"He’s happy with Miami. He sees what’s in front of him. Honestly, all that he wants is a chance to go out and show people what he can do. And when he does, it will be a tidal wave. It’s just about time and getting that playbook down. He’s got the tools to be a phenom."

No justification other than my gut, but I feel Cade is our best option. Really wish he could have played last week; even if it was for 3 drives.

Savanna St. will prove nothing, to him or the fans. However, going out and completing a few passes and gaining first downs vs. LSU would have done wonders for a QB’s confidence. Our’s too.

I totally agree with this. Outcome of game wouldn’t have changed, but a spark of hope or something going into the next 4 games obviously culminating with fsu) wouldve been great.

( Hope it happens soon.)

That's pretty canned - he's already let the Canes down in Spring/Summer by still not having command of the playbook and clearly beating out the guy(s) ahead of him, after a year in the program.

I remember reading a blip somewhere last year about Cade getting into it with one of our D-lineman, Ford maybe?

You are going off coach speak we already know that to be proven untrue. We haven’t seen him play how can he let us down??

Wow...so basically their HS coaches are praising them....big ******* deal......what are their coaches going to do...bash them. The fact that none of them could take the starting job away from Malik cant complete a pass Rosier is alarming
