In todays recruiting

i do believe that top tier schools Bama, Clemson, UGA,OU. OSU and a few more are dropping bags
however lets consider the other factor
#1 Staffs elite programs elite staffs great at player development..... NFL$$$$
#2 facilities top tier programs are close to NFL standards nutrition programs, S&C(+ magic elixirs) heck Bama has barbers and chefs on staff
#3 they win period
top 6 programs will have run appearances of playoffs for an extended period,
maybe ACC network gives us some more cash but were like the rest of power 5 schools not enough juice

You would be shocked how crappy NFL facilities are. Some dont have IPF or even a full field.

For a kid and his handler's who have larceny in their hearts, I am sure it would be most prized. They could use the price of a four year Miami education to leverage the big bag schools to pony up more money. I am convinced that a percentage of these "it's my dream school" or "truly blessed" and my personal fave "1000 percent committed" statements insinuate that it's payday time.

Going off the old NCAA football game ratings, I'd say Miami was a 3 1/2 star dynasty.

Tier 1: Bama, LSU, UGA, Clem$on, Ohio state,
Tier 2: OU, Texas, USC, Auburn
Tier 3: Miami, FSU, Michigan, pedo state, ND, Oregon, UF, Tennessee
I think this is the most accurate yet but some of the tier 2 and tier 3 teams could be interchangeable

I would say the difference between the tier 2 and tier 3 teams in my list is the number of 5 and high 4 star recruits they get.

Tier 1: Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, UGA, Ohio State
Tier 2: Texas, USC, Miami, UF, FSU, LSU, Michigan, ND, Penn State
Tier 3: Washington, Oregon, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Auburn
Tier 3: Rest of the SEC, ACC, Big Ten
Tier 4: Rest of the Pac 12, Big XII
Tier 5: AAC, CUSA, MW
Tier 6: Sun Belt, MAC

This is a good list. I'd personally create a 1a and put Oklahoma and LSU in it. I'd promote Auburn and Oregon to Tier 2.

There appears to be a strong correlation to bags in the above rankings. Even still, I think winning + good evaluation/player development trumps bags. There are only a handful of no-brainer, dominant recruits a year coming out of HS. The rest of the Top 300 are mostly only marginally better or worse relative to each other. So any given team can break back into the top category based on being the "hot" winning team that these kids want to go to.

Said in another way, I don't think these rankings are static. If we win, we'll have our pick of enough quality kids to keep winning, and we'll vault back into Tier 1 quickly.

The reason why I put Oklahoma up there is

1. They have won like the last 10 Big XII championships
2. 4 Heisman winners since 2000
3. Have always recruited well.

Oregon and Auburn while having nice facilities, still havent accomplished more than Miami and every time they peaked, they have crumbled shortly after.

Seems everyone on the board generally has similar views on the current tiers. I think TAMU is bigger offer than most give credit for.

A Stanford offer carries more weight than Alabama/Clemson/LSU. Those 3 programs offer a lot of kids.

depends to who, I dont think it carries more than an SEC school to a kid from the Deep South no matter how smart they are.

I never understood why Stanford didnt recruit the DMV and NY/NJ more often.
