In hindsight...

Calling cane dynasty and Orlando I remember back in 97-99 we had same type of conversation about hc and oc and dc.wonder who those three were.we can do the same thing back then fly the banners or can we just realize that the last 15 yrs before cmr got here were worse than going through the sanctions we went through when butch was here.we all knew in 2016 it would take more than 3 yrs before we became irrelevant again in college football because of how far down our talent has fallen.but in just two yrs we won the coastal and ten games.last year we snuck up on some people this year people are taking us seriously and a lot of our deficiencies are being exposed just like back in 98-99.people have to remember the team that was our greatest ever were freshmen and sophomores those yrs.I dont like where we are as a team right now.but it was a lot worse 2015.do what you want boycott games fly banners if that what makes you happy just don't trash on the players we will need them however is the coach

That was my first thought when he was hired over my choice Butch Davis. 15 years at Georgia and 0 championships? That was suspect in itself.
 
We were 3 miracles (UNC, GT and FSU) from being 7-6 LAST season.

And bear in mind, UNC’s 3rd string QB played 95% of the game and one of the worst FSU teams in 35 years trotted our a true freshman QB in only his 3rd start.

I was part of a small but vocal contingent that was opposed to this hire in December 2015. I am team BBB, but I was anti Richt above all else. I would’ve even taken schiano over Richt. We saw clearly who he was at UGA, the guy had just been fired for non performance.

We warned you about this guy, and now here we all are. Surprise, it’s Groundhog Day!

Well for one thing I remember the same conversation we having today about the canes and flying the banners was what it was like from 97-99.got really heated in 98-99 .

That’s no secret and not even a little up for debate! Butchs interview was curtesy and was never seriously considered. And word on the streets is he didn’t even give a good interview at that. Wasn't me...I wasn't on ANY UM sites then...Started on Grassy in 2000....I was standing on the sidelines when it flew....

He sniffed one In 2002 when he was a 12-1 sec champ and would have faced us In the fiesta bowl if not for the Luckeyes flat out lucking into an undefeated season when they should have lost 4 games that year if it weren’t for last minute miracle wins kind of like our season last year. And he sniffed it again In 2012 which was his best team and had Bama beat in the sec championship game but let it slip away at the end about 5 yards from the endzone when Aaron Murray hit the wrong receiver on a throw to win the game. If they win that game, that’s the year Notre Dame somehow made it to the BCS title game and got killed by Bama and would have got killed by Georgia had they finished the job and beat Bama in the sec title game. So it is fair to say he’s gotten as close as you can get twice but like the saying goes, close but no cigar!

Man I hate that I’ve become so complacent about losses.Its like “oh well.on to the next one.hope we have better luck next week”.

Back in the day I’d have to take anything that could be thrown through a TV out of the room.I want to get back to that kind of caring.

I didn’t even think of that team so I wasn’t even counting 2002, I personally think the 2008 UGA team was his best squad and 2012 was the other contender.

I never said there was a deal dumb@$$! I said he was the favorite and that’s undeniable idiot! Seriously are you even a canes fan or are you Butchs own burner account in here? Everyone knows schiano was the favorite, it was no secret and was about to be made an offer but Richt was fired and the rest is history. Facts! Further more your old man idol wasnt even considered and was not going to get the job and that’s no secret either as everyone knows it was just a curtesy interview. Dang you must have your head so far up butchs *** that you cant even see and admit what was very common knowledge at the time of the interviewing/hiring process in 2015. 2008 was definitely the most talented with Stanford and Moreno but I they had what’s become the standerd Richt underachieving season with top talent that year going 9-3 I think and came out completely flat and were blown out by Florida who went on to win it all that year.
