Ty Willingham was 44-36-1 at Stanford where the program was awful and he played very good competition. He failed at Notre Dame and Washington but I hardly think they hired him because he was black.

Let me ask this: Do you think any of the black coaches in college are chosen because they are good coaches or do they get jobs because they are black?

Al Golden is 55-52 in the MAC and ACC Coastal and people around here act like he's Don Shula.

The mans posted a .738 in 170+ games of major competitive football, at a small private school new to a big boy conference. He's what you loons should be using as Goldens role model. At this point Golden would have to win 72 straight and lose -7 games to be in Pattersons stratosphere.

Randy Shannon was the equivalent of Pat Narduzzi when he was hired, except people thought he was an ace recruiter.

I always laugh at simple minded comments like " Shannon set us back years". " he was hired because he was black....." Reflects more on the person making those comments than anything. A good/ great coach can come in and get results immediatly no matter what the previous coach did.

Shannon left a good enough foundation for a real coach to come in and win right away. Unfortunately golden doesn't fit Into this category. In fact, if you look at the production Golden may be worse than Shannon which says something.
