I'm Rooting for Losses

I agree with this... I think at this point in the game... I'm only hearing what they want me hear (recruiting) which in some cases can be worst than the truth. My Army recruiter didn't tell me anyting about some of the **** I had to endure once I put on the boots. But I have to say what I am hearing from the staff I completely agree with. That being the kids are buying into the program.. I've talked with Tracey, Stacey, Mark, J.Young, Cager, AQM, Chad and others... and hear tones of the same things I'm hearing from the staff. But once Shaq is there I will have an inside source.

That's all good & well...but Golden's been in the coaching business what...20 years? You mean to tell me that it just dawned on Him in His umpteenth year, that morale & buy in are important? I don't...AFAIC, the human dynamic isn't suspended into thin air, just because you put the word coach in front of somebody's name...nope,sorry, doesn't work that way. You either have it or you don't.

I truly understand the position some of you guys are taking Rooting for Loses... i totally disagree.. but respect the opinions of others... but for the guys that are rooting for loses understand the loses will hurt recruiting for YEARS ... and it will not make a difference who is coaching...UM will be taking a$$ whooping from the likes of FAU.. We can't cut off our nose to spite our face... thats my opinion.. and we all know what they say about opinions...there like butt holes eveyone has one and don't think theirs stink...

That's a load of horse crap. All it takes is one real coach and Miami will be pulling in top 5 classes every year.
Dynasty you've been in this site longer than I have... I have a question for you...If i click the Ignore User button will that stop you from seeing my post or will it stop me from seeing your or both?

Not tucking..i like your post...if you drink Cognac... you can come have one with me at the first game

If I had a child that was a D1 recruit I'd probably suggest he didn't go to Miami under Golden.

And I'd hardly call that an 'attack'. I'm sure the parent hears more BS at work than what Dynasty said.

When you state that someone is "trying to talk common sense" into someone else, but implying that they shouldn't even bother wasting the pixels because the parent is supposedly so dumb he'd let his son come to UM, that certainly is an attack. Regardless, Shaq's father know a **** of a lot better than any one of you what is going on with the program, and what's best for his son.

Get thicker skin. No one is above reproach.

Has absolutely nothing to do with being "above reproach". It has everything to do with a completely fake fan criticizing a recruit's parent for having their kid come to UM. That's not the action of a fan, period. Like I said, the parent knows FAR more about the program, and what's best for his son, than some complete nobody like Dynasty who's sole skill is to throw tantrums like a child.

Would you be so kind as to make a checklist of the do's and dont's for "real fans"?

It would help the guys like me that aren't sure where the **** you are coming from.

Sure.

Step 1. Fans don't attack and belittle parents of recruits that are looking to send their kids to the school that you are supposedly a fan of.

Step 2. Fans don't do everything they can to undermine the team they claim to be fans of.

There, very easy.

What about sending pizzas?

This is officially the most fuccked up thread ever on this site.

This whole board is fuccked up by the same posters posting the same threads over and over again. I agree with free speech and your right to express your opinions but I wish the mods would just combine some of these threads and keep them all together so people who are looking for information about the team don't have to sort through all the BS threads...

Funny how some of you claim that anyone who supports the team is a liberal and a slupper yet you are the very ones acting like liberals with your name calling and propaganda. State the facts and let people decide what they want to do and respect their choices. Not everyone agrees with some of you that a true fan should root against the team that they love so that change can take place. Change is a given in life with or without your help. I'm sure most of you did not want Butch here after his first 2-3 years but are glad that he stayed to build the program. Most of you did not want to see Butch leave but it still happened.

People come and go in this program but the one constant is the program. I'm not a fan of everyone that has gone through the program but I wish them all the best and root for them to do well because they are a part of the program that I love. I don't care if it's a coach, player or parent. If they do well then the program will benefit, if they fail then the program will be hurt.

Most of you claiming to be real fans by rooting against "your" team seem to fit the definition of "fair weather fan".
Urban Dictionary: Fair Weather Fan

Fair Weather Fan
A fan of a sports team who only shows support when the team is doing well. During hard times they usually bandwagon other teams. They basically have no real loyalty to the team, but still manage to get better seats than you at the game. Strangely they mysteriously vanish at the first sign of trouble.

I do drink Cognac. I won't be to any games until Gorlden is gone though.

After that I'll take you up on that offer as long as it isn't in the blue lot. Those guys scare me!

This program has been dead almost a decade, I doubt these guys are "fair weather fans".

1. The "mascot" of a supposed college football program located in Coral Gables, FL, that actually is a semi-pro team since the alumni pay for their athletes and hence, their national championships.
2. What low class, poor, ghetto dwelling thugs think the University of Miami is actually called because:
a) They don't realize it's actually a school of higher learning and not a pro team
b) They have never been to the campus (or any campus for that matter)
c) They couldn't find Coral Gables, FL on a map
d) They could never afford to take a class at the school anyway.
3. The college football program that is most envious of the years of dominance that the Florida State University football program enjoyed during the late 80's and throughout the 90's, setting several NCAA records and winning two national championships while stringing together an unprecedented 14 straight top 5 finishes and bowl appearances.
4. The college football program located in Coral Gables, FL that will spend 2-3 years atop the polls, then runs out of money to pay players, and sinks to the level of an also-ran team that loses annually to West Virginia and Virginia Tech until they can save enough money up to pay for more pro caliber players. In addition, at least once per decade, they will be placed on NCAA probation.
Florida State Fan: ...and I'll also have a double cheese burger, and a large coke.
Miami Hurricanes Fan: Yassuh...right away suh. What else you be wantin' suh???
