I'm not giving up on Richt now

I'm willing to give Richt, the head coach, more time but under one condition...

He MUST hire a dedicated competent OC this summer. If he doesn't swallow his pride and do this it'll be time to start calling for his head.

He won't do that, he thinks he's a great play caller. GA make him hire someone who could call plays, he's terrible. 3 run plays at the beginning of the game down by 7. Second and 13, 3 and 13, fire his ***.

If that ends up coming to pass I'll be the one fueling the planes myself.

Yet to score 22 points against any P5 opponent.... still not his fault.

OK

He blew this. Against Notre Fuggin Dame he turtles. Brad had it hummin' for awhile and Richt went away from what got them back in the game in crunch time.

Maybe it was Brad who blew it like he has done in every close game late in his career. He had guys open on both the last two drives and couldn't hit them and then takes a horrible sack to end the game.

OK

Yards vs Power 5: 355, 276, 363, 365, 306. Yet to break 370 yards......still not his fault.

**** *** James Coley broke 370 8 out 10 games vs Power 5 teams last year. Only times under was 146 vs Clemson, 344 vs Wash St in a snow storm. Oh and we returned 9 starters.

Yeah, he was 145-51 at Georgia and 83-37 in the SEC, so he's proven to be a bad coach in the past. He's definitely worse than Golden, so you shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt, and we should definitely call for his head after 8 games, while Golden and Shannon got a combined 8 years. Makes perfect sense.

Golden and Shannon actually got a combined 9 years. But why did they deserve that many years?

We gave Fred Flintstone ad Barney Rubble 4 1/2 years so I think we can gave Richt a full year. You never know he might realize that he needs an OC I mean he can't hire one right now.

Im not giving up on Richt as long as this o line is here, Jamal Carter is playing safety etc etc.

For the love of God can we get someone else besides Lewis at KO return? Put Corn back there, put homer back there, put Richards back there.

wagon.webp

He's not coaching well, but there's an adjustment period everywhere for everyone. It's not an excuse, but I'll give him another year. There is something wrong with Kaaya, and I'm not blaming Richt for it. He's either hurt physically or hurt mentally, and I think it's more mental. The OL is atrocious, and Richt made comments to that in the spring (their size...where are the big guys?). Flying banners right now is dumb. Sorry, it's dumb. If Richt is stubborn and doesn't make changes after the year, I'll be upset, and if next year is more of the same, I'll be upset. Richt is not a bad coach. I still don't think the game has passed him by. I still he can win here. If he doesn't (and not this year, you can't judge anyone in one year), I'll gladly eat crow.

Everyone wants to be the first to say "I was right, Richt was the wrong hire," like people claim to have been with Golden that it's going to be like this with every coach we have from here on out. And I don't want hear about Herman. He never wanted to come here, and his Houston team sucks this year. I still think he's a good coach, but he'll be at Texas next year, and there is no doubt in my mind that Butch would not be any better this year at Miami.

Anyway, the 9,000 fire Richt threads are annoying as ****, but do what you want, I'm done arguing with people who are irrational. It's like politics.

Declaring Randy Shannon a better coach than Mark Richt after 8 games is comical. Can't make this **** up. We may have more retarded, illogical fans than the SEC, WVU, anyone you can think of. Reading this board is like listening to a bunch of females on their crying about their man that they can't stand but would never leave. Leave *****es, do us all a favor and just ******* leave. FSU and UF could use some more hoes for fans.

There was a reason the Georgia higher ups took over the reins

It was probably the 5 top 10 finishes in his first 7 seasons that pushed them to make that change.

His record his first 7 years was AMAZING. 8-4, 13-1, 11-3, 10-2, 10-3, 9-4, 11-2, 10-3.

Cool. How about his last decade at Georgia? It looked something like this:

Two SEC championships in his first five seasons, he failed to win a title in his last 10 seasons.

Georgia has appeared in the SEC championship game only twice since winning its last SEC title in 2005.

His teams suffered at least one loss of 18 points or more in 10 of the last 11 seasons

Record of 14-23 against ranked opponents over the last eight seasons, including 0-2 last year

Unable to take control of the SEC East in each of the previous two seasons, when Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee were collectively struggling mightily

After winning its first four games last year, Georgia was routed by Alabama 38-10 at home on Oct. 3, and then it blew a 21-point lead in a 38-31 loss at Tennessee the next week.

By Halloween last year, Georgia was eliminated from the SEC East race after a 27-3 loss to Florida.

Only one of the FBS opponents the Bulldogs beat last year (second-year FBS program Georgia Southern, which lost to UGA 23-17 in overtime) finished with a winning record, and only one other FBS foe (6-6 Auburn) will play in a bowl game

Richt's teams went only 5-10 against the Gators

The "he just needs very good coordinators" excuse is precisely what was uttered early on in Golden's tenure as well.

When this phrase starts becoming the norm (and it already has), it starts becoming more and more clear that you have a corch on your hands.

Following the last 3 coaching disasters, I so badly wanted UM to bring someone on board that brought a coaching dynamic, not just a "CEO." Richt seemed intriguing, as the idea of calling plays again appeared to reinvigorate him, but his playcalling has been a complete and utter disaster.

Everybody wants to win, I get it. Now if you really think Richt is going to be fired after his first year then you must be smoking rocks! Richt will get 3 years at the least to turn this thing around because thats the approach you should take when you hire a new regime. It would be catastrophic to this program if he was fired after 1 year, no real coach would want to come here after that. If we made a bad hire then so be it, we would have to move on when that time comes. But for the time being we have Richt and I honestly think this program will turn around with him as coach.

3 of our losses have been by a than a touchdown or less. Usually teams that are growing up and learning how to win have these types of losses. There's no doubt that the offense has been terrible and the game planning needs to improve but all the Lets fly the banners talk is silly. Our fan base looks worst than our O-line.

he was removed from most of his coaching actvities to basically be a ceo and raise money.

How convenient.

Do me a favor and chop off your hands so you can never post here again.

I'm not going anywhere away from richt

I'm smart enough to realize we have a high school drop out for an o line and a qb that can't hit the broad side of a barn unless he's hot

I mean, who the *** isn't good when they're hot?.. show me something when things aren't going your way.

We lost this game because of kayaa.. adjustments were made and you saw them yourselves, that's called coaching.. that's a 27 to 0 run based on adjustments

All kayaa had to do was man the *** up just once, but no

Richt is my man till he proves that with his people he cannot get it done.. unfortunately that is gonna take a few years
