I'm not convinced yet that Manny's not the guy, however...

...the undisciplined nature of our players as a whole almost cost us this game alone.

Look, as a 1st time HC in his 1st season, you can't control the roster that you inherit, you may not have the budget or know how to make the proper hirings, there are other things that you can forgive, but no matter what level of football you are playing, you CAN control how disciplined your team plays as a unit and you can control how they learn, improve and progress.

I'm not ready to give up on him yet, but if he really wants to make this work, he better grab this team by the nape of the neck and get them to at least play good, disciplined, fundamental football.

100% agree. Great post. The OL is a mess and this team plays terribly undisciplined football which falls on Manny. I'm pretty sure Manny is ripping **** up right now after hearing him at half and post game.

This season is what it is. Manny must make staff changes this offseason, primarily at OL, LB, DB/S, and hire a special teams coach. These new coaches needs to be seasoned with some P5 experience.

If he makes no changes, we know he is a fraud and we’re doomed for another five seasons of mediocrity.

I hope this team improves. However, to date, Manny has not proven anything. Gimmicks, chains, slogans...everything except quality football.

No discipline. Lots of stupid penalties, bad schemes, poor planning...

This team is just not playing well and that is on him.

I agree. I’m still a big Manny supporter and am pulling for him to succeed. I think he’s smart and a good coach (head coach, not so sure) . However, when I see a team that is physically superior not able to execute the simplest of plays, it’s concerning. This game was an embarrassment. Offensively, special teams and defense had major gaffs a well. Manny needs to make changes NOW!

The concerning part is all three aspects of the team have weak spots. The offensive line is down right abysmal. We might need four QBs to get through this season they rate Jarren is getting hit. The secondary is a major liability. Any decent qb will carve this team up. Special teams still can't consistently make a 25 yard field goal.

It's now a third of the way into the season and things still look sloppy and the team as a whole is undisciplined. It's a very young offense but the talent is there. We were whipped on the o line by a g5 team. A team that won one **** game last year and was smoked a couple weeks ago 61-0.

With another bye week next there's a lot that needs worked on. If there is no real improvement by next game then this season looks lost. A performance like that against any coastal team is a double digit loss.

I want everyone to remember that this staff was pieced together by Manny.

1. He chose the S&C coach from Temple (which now looking back at those 1 min clips, he & his strength staff were helping players bench 2 & 3/4 plates, snatching it up. That’s a no, no. You can help guide, but snatching it is you doing 30% of the rep for the person and it’s a testament to the lack of strength these guys have.)

2. What’s most troubling is that he waited, and waited, and waited to hire Dan Enos and the guy is getting $1m for this chit. Harrell was available. Fedora was available. He bragged about this grand slam hire.

3. Enos was allowed to hand picked Butch Barry b/c of his time w him at CMU.

4. Diaz kept Rumph, Banda, Patke, and he hired a guy from AKRON b/c of what he did at NC St w Mario Williams back in 06! (Eerily similar to Golden justifying the hire of No D b/c of Mohammad Wilkerson)

5. Manny hired Taylor Stubblefield due to his familiarity w Enos. Stubblefield has produced exactly 0 draft picks at his coaching position.

6. Manny hired Hickson, who spent one yr at KSU, and the rest was at AKRON and a CC.

7. Manny hired Stephen Field, where his coaching experience was high school, one yr coaching TEs and recruiting at FAMU, and the last 3 yrs, no coaching at all...just serving as a recruiting coordinator.

So; my point is we shouldn’t be surprised that we started 0-2 against P5 comp. We shouldn’t be surprised that our trench game sucks at the point of attack. We shouldn’t be surprised that we are struggling against G5 opponents, when he hired G5 coaches. Enos spent 1 yr at Bama w the QBs, but it was Locksley calling the plays, and as we can see, his tutelage was chit in Tuscaloosa b/c both Hurts and Tua look just fine, if not better, w/o him.

Manny was given free reign to pick his staff, and by all accounts, good $ was used. If this season is a failure, look no further than what took place in January, Manny putting his staff together.

He should've cleaned house on the defensive side of the ball just like the offensive side

Nothing Manny has done proves he will be a good HC. I thought the school was crazy to even consider Diaz but of course they surprise me again with their incompetence. How Blake James still has a job is utterly mind boggling.

It shouldn’t be surprising anyone who has been on campus lately knows this. These schools with their safe spaces and political correctness bullsh*t it’s hard to fire anybody particularly an incompetent bureaucrat like Blake James.

Blake James is the absolute worst AD in the nation and there isn’t even a close second. I’ll take Kirby Hocutt over this guy and that is really saying something!

Real men have their wives spot them to ensure they get no added support to that lift.

I'm only half joking, saw the same thing in the vid and was shaking my head.

Your posts flat out frighten me. They make me feel like I will never leave Groundhog Day, ever. “This time it will be different” and then Phil (you) pops out to tell me winter ain’t going anywhere. Most people don’t like “direct”, I do, your posts are direct and it bugs the crap out of me that you are right.

I look forward to the day you post something that is again, spot on, yet is a positive (if you know what I mean) like we did something correct. Frustration level- elevated.

I hope this was the wake up call they needed to make sure they take the week off and really prepare for Va Tech and Virginia.

I hope.

Buddy...

He's not the guy.

Manny set extremely high standards and expectations. I don't want to hear excuses about the roster. The Oline is garbage. He knew that though and he still talked about going to Charlotte this year. Dude trashed Richt all off-season. Took little shots at him whenever he could. Now he has the job and honestly seems like a downgrade. He looked lost out there yesterday. He has been outcoached in every game other than the Bethune Cookman game. That says alot.
