One person that nobody mentions...
Phillip Montgomery
Can you imagine the numbers Montgomery would put up with South Florida talent? All he would need is a competent defensive coordinator and you could call it a day.
Miami would be the 1st team to drop 90 points on a team in the ACC.
This has been discussed before but how much of it is Art and how much of it is Montgomery? I would be hesitant simply because he would be a first time HC and it's tough to quantify his contribution towards that offense. This is my same feeling towards Narduzzi except Narduzzi is older.
As somebody who studies Baylors offense religiously and watches tons of their games, that offense is all Art Briles. He would be at the top of my list if he was even remotely realistic but he's a Texas guy through and through, his whole career I believe. Been a offensive innovator his whole life.
You're right, Briles isn't going anywhere. That's why I'm looking at Monty. He's inexperienced but I think he can be great given the talent he would have at his disposal in south Florida. He calls the plays. Has been doing so for years. It's Briles offense but that's not to say Monty is inept. He's as good as it gets in the country. He's young, and knows offense. Wouldn't command a ton of money, either. It's definitely worth considering given the circumstances with UM.
