If UM did fire Alice FOlden, we should hire.......

One person that nobody mentions...

Phillip Montgomery

Can you imagine the numbers Montgomery would put up with South Florida talent? All he would need is a competent defensive coordinator and you could call it a day.

Miami would be the 1st team to drop 90 points on a team in the ACC.

This has been discussed before but how much of it is Art and how much of it is Montgomery? I would be hesitant simply because he would be a first time HC and it's tough to quantify his contribution towards that offense. This is my same feeling towards Narduzzi except Narduzzi is older.

As somebody who studies Baylors offense religiously and watches tons of their games, that offense is all Art Briles. He would be at the top of my list if he was even remotely realistic but he's a Texas guy through and through, his whole career I believe. Been a offensive innovator his whole life.

You're right, Briles isn't going anywhere. That's why I'm looking at Monty. He's inexperienced but I think he can be great given the talent he would have at his disposal in south Florida. He calls the plays. Has been doing so for years. It's Briles offense but that's not to say Monty is inept. He's as good as it gets in the country. He's young, and knows offense. Wouldn't command a ton of money, either. It's definitely worth considering given the circumstances with UM.

Christobal is my choice. I don't blame him for leaving. #1 rated recruiter in country. Knows S. Florida. Won't neuter the S. Florida kids.

Art Briles (Won't leave Baylor. Even if he did, we might not be willing to spend contract money needed)

Gary Patterson (Won't leave TCU)

Todd Graham (No thanks, It would be his 4th destination in 4 years - questionable personal history)

Rich Rodriguez (Yeah, right)

Mark Dantonio (Would be a solid hire that we could afford)

Butch (Homerun hire that we could afford)

Gundy (Won't leave OSU. Even if he did we, might not be willing to spend the contract money needed)

Jeremy Pruitt (No thanks)

Kirby Smart (Would be a solid hire that we could afford, might be holding out for another SEC type job)

Chud (Mental *********ion)

Mark Stoops (Would be a solid hire we could afford)

Chad Morris (Would be a solid hire that we could afford )

Are you trying to convey a point?

Are you?

Well for one you're comments are absolutely retarded. You have no insight into what any of these guys' intentions are, so for you to dismiss anyone on that list because according to you, they aren't leaving their current job, is ridiculous.

If they'd come here if we ponied up, who the **** knows. But to just dismiss an entire list of quality candidates for the assortment of reasons you gave is stupid.

LOL. Oh boy. The mental midgets really do come out of the wood work. You have a lot of what if's in your last statement and you really have no leg to call anyone's opinion stupid. But if you want to play that game, I think your list of coaching candidates is stupid and retarded. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about since you don't know if ANY of these coaches are coming here or if Miami will pay them to come.... or if UM actually wants them to come for that matter. See how easy that is foola?

Holy ****, how many times did your parents dump you on your head as a child? I posted a ******* list of potential coaches I would call if I were hiring for this vacancy. Nowhere did I say I expected them to accept if offered, I simply laid out a list of who I think we should target. It's mind blowing someone could be this stupid. I even made a point to mention I have no way of knowing if these guys would accept.

No first timers learning on the job. I say go with NFL coach or established coach. Briles would be great but it's a pipe dream. Hugh Freeze would be a shot to the program but UM would not touch him. PJ Fleck is a cornball and a *** scandal waiting to happen, but his youth might resonate. I swear every scenario I run through always ends up at Kiffin. And I don't think it's that crazy anymore. He could keep Ice, neuter Coley and bring a solid DC.

Whoever wrote Briles is crazy...he rejected the Texas job for Gods sake

Yea, apparently he thinks that if Miami throws him enough money, he will come.

Literally, what part of, "if they'd come here if we ponied up, who the **** knows" equates to claiming if we threw enough money at a candidate he would come?

Did you graduate high school, honest question? Learn to ******* read.

Dude, seriously, do us all a favor and just drink paint already.

Butch Davis
Kyle Wittingham
Jim McElwain
Jeremy Pruitt
Kirby Smart

Pick someone just spin the wheel again. At least we have a SHOT we hit on the next guy, we KNOW Golden is a ****ing lardassed piece of **** cheese.

Wittingham will never be able to recruit SoFla.

Why not?

He can barely croot whitebread Utah. He would be truly bewildered by the shenanigans of SoFla crootin and the culture divide would be palpable on his home visits.

The only, and I mean ONLY reason his teams are any good at all is because of the recruiting and coaching of his DC. The day Sitake leaves Wittingham is the day you can start the countdown on Wittingham getting fired.

Wow. This board is full of mentally incapacitated crackpots. There are idiots on this board openly advocating for the likes of Beanerdict Arnold Cristobal and Lame *****in.

You maniacs must sit in your moms' basements dreaming up schemes that will make you billionaires.

Briles would be awesome, but he's states repeatedly in public that he will never leave Baylor voluntarily.

McElwain is another great choice, but if you pay much attention to this stuff, he has a crazy buyout over $7M.

I'd look for a proven solid football coach who has won games against better talent and won a conference or something of similar significance. Look for a guy who has consistently done more with less.

In other words, make Gary Pinkel tell you no. Look at dudes like Mark Dantonio our Todd Graham or Rich Rodriguez.

Enough of these hotshot coordinators or Folden types. Find a proven football coach who has accomplished things of significance.

All this hand-wringing over recruiting is retarded. If you're a winner you will recruit here. Anyone can recruit here if they are good football coaches who put a good product on the field.

Was going to post something identical to this, but don't have to bc u nailed all points perfectly.

Lot of our fan base must still put their fingers on a hot stove bc clearly they don't learn from being burned.

Kyle Whittingham would produce an insane defense here.

Did buddy really say hire the Navy coach??!! The guys runs the ole triple option does he not? What the **** good would that do down here? Might as well hire Paul Johnson then. Holy sh*t that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Let's hire a triple option guy because we could get a Samoan recruit, maybe, possibly.

Wow, I have heard it all now

Miami can't afford established winning coaches at FBS schools...it's a reality

There is a coach that has won 2 national titles, three times pac10 coach of the year, nfl experience, miami ties, that would gladly take the job. He is only 4 years older than butch........lmao

On a serious note, I just want change. Thank you Al for your time, now let's get a winner.

Miami can afford any coach from any school but they won't do that.

A competitive football program isn't a high priority.

It's Whittingham's defense at Utah ... He was their DC before he became HC.

And I agree with winning being a significant impact on recruiting ... It's well known that Gus Malzhan is an odd guy. UM sells itself ... Especially with continued investment in the program and facilities.
