If UM did fire Alice FOlden, we should hire.......

Who is your realistic choices ?

Not ****in 27-47, bad position coach Mario Cristobal. I can't believe I'm saying this, but that's an actual step down from the **** sandwich were already eating.
What was his record his last few seasons. You can't honestly say he didn't turn that program in the right direction. And he beat Charlie Strong. That's better than our "**** sandwich" as you called it.

8-5 and 3-9 and then he got fired

FIU Athletic Director Pete Garcia explained his reasoning for firing Cristobal as "He's done a very good job for this program, but we’ve gone backwards over the last year and a half. Over the last 22 games, we've gone 8-14."[
And his firing was one of the most questioned firing that offseason. I just think realistically he is our best option. Are there better options? Yes. But they are not realistic at this point.

Why even bother hiring cristobal? We've already got Golden to go .500, at least make him work for his buy out, no sense paying two Goldens at once.

This hire should have Miami connections. I think Cristobal would be a good hire. FIU was a joke and we won back to back bowl games there. Once he was fires they became a joke again. He can recruit south Florida extremely well. Is probably the only coach who can come in and keep the classes together, especially next seasons. And he knows the Miami tradition. He's also been on Sabans staff for two years and could bring the Alabama culture to Miami. Sound discipline football. Something that Saturday showed we were lacking. I know him leaving and stabbing us in the back hurts but he's the most realistic option we have who knows what it's like to be a Cane.

OH ***ING JEBUS. Cristobal. Is this real life?
Why not Cristobal? This isn't the 80s. We can't get whoever we want and that was apparent when Golden got hired. Make your lists of these top coaches who aren't going to come and hope we land a big one.

Coaches who would come (make less than Gorlden)

Butch (but not sure if realistic)
Rich Rod
Jim mcElwain
Schiano
Ruffin McNeill
Chud (think he is an nfl guy though)
****, Tubervillle or Wannstedt >>> Cristobal

Assistants also much better than Cristobal

Kirby Smart
Chad Morris
Narduzzi
They wouldn't be realistic hires. Why would Rich Rod leave a top 15 team for a team that will probably go 6-7?

These are the calls I make, and in that order. You make the guys say no and if our AD showed a desire to compete for titles, and laid out a plan getting their, boosters and alumni would be willing to pony up for a guy near the top of that list.

Whether they'd accept or not is on them, but this sentiment that certain guys won't leave certain places is dumb, and all founded on internet
speculation. Peterson wasn't leaving Boise, Bielma wasn't leaving the Big 10, etc, until it happened.

Art Briles (Won't leave Baylor. Even if he did, we might not be willing to spend contract money needed)

Gary Patterson (Won't leave TCU)

Todd Graham (No thanks, It would be his 4th destination in 4 years - questionable personal history)

Rich Rodriguez (Yeah, right)

Mark Dantonio (Would be a solid hire that we could afford)

Butch (Homerun hire that we could afford)

Gundy (Won't leave OSU. Even if he did we, might not be willing to spend the contract money needed)

Jeremy Pruitt (No thanks)

Kirby Smart (Would be a solid hire that we could afford, might be holding out for another SEC type job)

Very serious. I just don't see the point in making a list of these great hires. I'd rather Rich Rod than Cristobal. I just said he's not a legit candidate. I'd take about 20 coaches over Cristobal. But he is most realistic coach we have just everyone thinks he is horrible but I think is he tremendous upgrade over Golden.

Well for one you're comments are absolutely retarded. You have no insight into what any of these guys' intentions are, so for you to dismiss anyone on that list because according to you, they aren't leaving their current job, is ridiculous.

If they'd come here if we ponied up, who the **** knows. But to just dismiss an entire list of quality candidates for the assortment of reasons you gave is stupid.

some of this lists are hilarious. Fat *** Beast actually put Strong on the list. I liked to fell the **** over on that one.

LOL. Oh boy. The mental midgets really do come out of the wood work. You have a lot of what if's in your last statement and you really have no leg to call anyone's opinion stupid. But if you want to play that game, I think your list of coaching candidates is stupid and retarded. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about since you don't know if ANY of these coaches are coming here or if Miami will pay them to come.... or if UM actually wants them to come for that matter. See how easy that is foola?

What are Miami's Problems that a new HC needs to address?

1. Players thrown under the bus who react (as expected) to the undo criticism with a "why should I care" attitude

2. Consistent weakness recruiting DTs and OL personnel

3. Poor teaching of players, i.e. development and on-field discipline

All I see is the same tired names being put out. Butch will be untouchable as Marky Mark Emmert and his Funky Bunch are forced to re-investigate UNC.

How about some out of the box thinking:

Ken Niumatalolo, Navy's HC

1. Knows how to treat his players like men and not as excuses

2. South Florida not a consistent producer of nasty DTs or dominating OLs. How about a Samoan pipeline as oppossed to the stinking Jersey pipeline

3. Navy has consistently competed with top programs on the field because their players are well-coached and disciplined. Imagine what this guy could do with some talented players?

Recruiting? Fine, Keep Coley, Ice and Carroll on the staff for South Florida and West Coast, but Niumatalolo has recruited nationally at Navy. Imagine what he could do without the service commitment negative working against him. Coley could handle offense (modified by losing the rhythm-killing "check with me" BS) with some drive saving triple attack elements (can't hurt at RB []_[]). Get a good DC who runs an attacking scheme which would suit the DTs and LB Niumatalolo will get to play for him from half way around the world, but acclimatized neverthless.

Look, Jimmy was a competitive coach at Okie State who couldn't win the big games because of the talent disparity. He solved this at Miami. Niumatalolo has been competitive against Power 5 and has even won some games with the equivelent of one and two stars. The Admin will be orgasmic at his grad rate and Miami gets a guy who knows he has topped out at his present gig (they didn't win the C of C trophy and Army is no competition, so he may be getting bored)

UM needs to think out of the box again like in the Coach L hire...
