If Manny fires the DC can he stay?

I believe this is the highest likelihood scenario left.

We win out or drop 1 and he quietly hires a DC in the off-season. This was the cryptic we will put money in to support the team but Manny is the coach.

Sorry boys I call it like I see it. Right now I see it. I don't like it but I see it.
If Manny wanted a DC he could have hired a DC during preseason. It was his hubris that made him think he could do it better than anyone else.

But if a new admin "recommends" he hire one (if he stays) I also hope they "recommend" he stay out of the way.

"Real" Canes fans want Manny gone so bad that they are rooting for a collapse. "Real" Canes fans are in agony because Manuel Alberto Diaz has the Canes on a win streak. "Real" Canes fans want Jake to start when he heals up. "Real" Canes fan want the Cuban from Oregon, Butch, Mullen, Stoops, Deion, Lebron, etc. to be our coach. They sit around looking for coaches on hot sit in an endless cycle of "who will be our next coach"

Sadly, Manuel Alberto Diaz is might lead the Canes to 8-4, mess around and win the ACC, then go to a big 6 bowl game. Oh, the horror. GO CANES!!!

Manny needs to go but if we win out I don’t see him being let go…

BUT having said that this isn’t only about Manny hiring a DC….it’s as much about Manny stepping back and letting the new DC do what he wants and not force this idiot Scheme that Manny thinks is great on the new guy…

We are winning in spite of Manny. This team is carrying the coach. He adds nothing to this team. Manny is the reason we are not a one loss team.
If they retain Manny that will tell me all I need to know about UM. Any fan saying we should keep him, tells me all I need to know about their IQ.

Hate to break the news to everyone, if he wins the next 3, he is coming back next year. A 6 game winning streak to end the season will not get you fired here. Miami is not LSU and we don’t think that same way. Our best hope in this scenario is them firing Blake and hiring a legit AD.

Trust me I’m on your side, Manny should go but I don’t see it happening in this scenario unless one of the trustee cuts a 10+ million dollar check to cover Manny’s buyout and the new coaches buyout.

This is exactly how I see it playing out. Some BS narrative around TVD’s and other freshmen development, injuries, and second half of the season performance.

Manny stays but they force him to revamp the defense by hiring a DC. They give him next year to prove it. And he will fall flat out on his face again.

Would he though?

Get a quality DC in here and the offense continues to get better, I think we'd be set. Set for what though? A national championship? I don't know, but 9 to 10 wins for sure and that's not even off the table this year.

His job is safe baring a late season collapse. Win one or two more, no blowouts, he's back. I don't even know though if they could strong arm him into giving up the DC responsibilities though. Guess we'll see.

No he can’t recruit. The ship has sailed

If Many wins out he stays but I'm expecting Highsmith to assume a role in the football operations and something very different than ER20's rah rah ****.
