Stop it. I see a post like this or similar every time Golden is mentioned in a post. “Golden just needed to fire his friend and he would have been a good coach.”

People seem to forget or maybe they never knew from the start that D’Onfrio was running Golden’s defense. That was Golden’s scheme and philosophy. Now, D’Onfrio was absolutely the wrong guy to be running it, but that’s why Golden made him then DC. You think another DC would have ran that garbage? D’Onfrio was his “yes” man. Not even Heatherman or another competent DC would have success running that defense.

If we have so much money can we use it for our coaches if we want to? Namely Taylor and Heatherman.

I very clearly said "decent" coach. I dunno where TF you got "good coach" from.
 
A younger richt would have us as a fringe playoff team year to hear

Mario has us competing for championships

Resources when hiring a major college coach never handed out equally they’re based on belief and what you think the person can do with those resources every coach before Mario that was in between Coker would never qualify for any of those resources because none of them have the résumé to even ask for the resources except for Richt and like I said to be given the resources you have to have a track record and the boosters and the administration have to have a belief in you. Obviously it’s worked out for us in the last four years.
 
Al Golden’s inability to field a defense and/or fire his best friend was his downfall.

And he couldn’t keep his foot on the gas and would let FSU come from behind and win.

But heck Manny let UNC set the NCAA single game rushing record against Miami.
 
FYI - a head coaches two main jobs are: 1) setting the vision for success and culture of his team and 2) hiring and continuously evaluating his staff.

so saying “he’d have been good if he’d not kept a bad defensive coordinator” is literally saying “he’d be good if he wasn’t a failure at one of the two main responsibilities of his job”.

No one has given Al Golden another shot as a head coach…because they realize he isn’t good at the most basic responsibilities of being a head coach.
 
How the **** are there apologists for our ****** coaches. It was malpractice here, the only one is golden who had a weird eye for some nfl talent but he was married at the hip to a ****** dc and a weirdo in the community
