If Golden, Richt, Diaz had Mario's resources...

Resources help, no doubt, but Mario is also just obsessed with recruiting and physical mentality. Richt would have been closest based on the 2017 season, but those other guys just didn’t have the same mentality. People just want to point to money, but Mario lives for this and that is the difference.
 
Golden and Diaz no chance, they had foundational issues as coaches (Schemes and recruiting acumen) that more resources wouldn't fix

I think if Richt was like 5 years younger and healthy he would have had us probably be a title contender like how he had UGA, but talent acquisition is Mario's calling card I don't think he'd have the same level of recruiting success Mario is having

💯 spot on, all those other names is the reason Mario is here. None of them have the character that Mario has.
 
Some of y’all forget just how bad the culture was here. Money ain’t fixing that. Dead program.

USC is a good example. Lincoln Riley would coach circles around all these listed names.. but he could never demand the respect Mario is able to.

Can’t fake it, buy it or imitate it. Either have it or you don’t. Thankfully, we had an alumn who was the perfect answer for what we needed.

I would say Richt, he knew how to run a progrum. I suspect he was horrified to find how bad O Line was when he arrived.
 
No, not a chance.

Its almost as if Golden was acting like a coach here, who secretly didn't care about winning. Just going through the motions.

Richt was asleep at the wheel and spent his entire career being too stubborn snd refusing to adapt.

Diaz is just like a gas station person or a make-a-wish kid who got to be coach.

Mario was about 10 hours from being SOL until God himself intervened and served up Cam Ward on a silver platter.

Mario did secure the cash so credit where its due but hes just as stubborn as Richt. Cam resuscitated the program which was seconds from death, and Mario hiring Heatherman revitalized everything.
