If Golden, Richt, Diaz had Mario's resources...

Interesting that Golden -- despite having success as a defensive coordinator after leaving UM -- never became a head coach elsewhere, even at a non-P4 school. Maybe his failure at Miami destroyed his rep. Or maybe he came to the self-realization that he just wasn't cut out to be a head coach.

Why do this? They all had more than enough resources to at least keep us competent. Yet none of them consistently did for various reasons. That's not resources. That's not being cut out for that job...
 
I think a few of those coaches win the conference but that’s after getting the stench off the program.

Richt's parkinson's was coming no matter what

Manny will almost certainly say that Manny needed to rise to that level, so we can discuss if he ever could but its not the same discussion.

No real changes.
 
As others have said, Richt - though a distant second. Mario is obsessed & demands the same of staff. Where he’s really come around is his ability to see weaknesses in staff or system & make the changes. Doesn’t put a band-aid on it, but boldly gets it right. Something Golden, Richt & Diaz struggled with.

I’m all all all in on Mario. Don’t get me wrong.
But I’m seeing the pre-Mario coaches mocked for their lack of 5 star recruits. Seems a little unfair to me — especially when the SEC schools were probably paying big money under the table.

Manny would still be mid. Golden would still be mid because of No D and his mentality. Richt maybe would have gotten closer. He had some decent teams at UGA but he reached his ceiling i think. Cristobal openness to changing stuff is what is progressing stuff along, not just resources. What resources would have made Golden fire No D. What resources woulda made Manny not sit in his office and go greet recruits in the IPF?

Still don’t mean he recruit at Mario’s level either . Mario been a big time recurrent every where he has been . Prob Alanna’s best recruiter . Loaded up the ducks . I do agree in the rest your comment . He prob would have been better than Diaz

Not hating on Mario but if we believe Saban was handing out bags, Mario was probably part of the process.
