IF Emory Starts/Plays……

At this point, it certainly seems there’s no quick fix, or any fix, for TVD’s yips. Throwing Emory to the semenhole wolves could be a disaster or a success.

Risk vs reward short and long term.
Yeah this conversation is getting too far into feelings

If Emory starts and can’t handle it then pull him out. TVD gets his *** off that bench and goes in and does whatever he can

To have to worry about what that will do to each QB would just solidify that neither one is the answer

I think they can both handle it

Emory should play because we're playing with House money & the starter can't stop turning the ball over...

Idk if you guys know this but in this era of CFB, TF QB's play & have success, it's happened multiple times on teams far better than ours.

If Emory really isn't ready & can't play behind a dude who is practically begging to get benched, then we got a lot bigger issues at hand than most would be willing to admit.

If they don't start Emory, it's because they're basically tanking the season, the question then becomes why?
I personally do feel that it might be a tanking situation because no one in their right mind would let TVD go back out there after his performances

Trying to keep Emory's RS hopes alive. IMO, they should burn it and IF we get someone better in the portal for 2024 we let Emory shirt with 4 games played in. That would give him 25-27 to be the starter if he can beat out the George '25 kid.

I would also tell Brown to transfer since he isn't willing to take snaps in his RS (this) year. We then need a 4th QB. I would personally take a kid with 2+ years left to play in the portal along with the likely '24 starter.

If EW starts and plays the game like he did 2nd half against Clemson, we'll be competitive and could win. That being said, I don't foresee a true FR QB going into a big rivalry game like this one on the road and playing to that level. Gonna be some yips, and he'll make some mistakes.

Here's the key - the TVD that played well enough earlier in the season to allow us to compete with FSU ain't walking thru that door (shoutout Rick Pitino) - that ship has sailed weeks ago. Now...the likelihood that we can get a good performance out of EW? Much higher than TVD.

Also...I'm on the fence about mixing in a JB package if you're starting EW. I get the obvious athleticism and playmaking ability with JB's legs, but I don't think Tally is the place to be doing that to EW. Pick either EW or JB and ride with them for the whole game so they're not looking over their shoulders. Prep one of them as THE guy this week, and tell them to relax and play ball. Support them and see what kind of performance you get. The only way I'd pull EW or JB if you ride with them is if they become as bad or worse than TVD against FSU, or if they get injured. Then toss the other guy in.

Now - one thing I'd like to see creativity-wise from Dawson is some wildcat with Brashard Smith. I think we'll be able to run right at FSU like we have other teams this year with our stable of RBs, but Smith needs more touches. If anyone's gonna get a package for change of pace with EW, it should be Smith.

Only program, where you have to wait for the "perfect time" for everything.

Perfect time to expect wins
Perfect time to utilize the young skilled players with SPEED
Perfect time to play a freshman QB, even if the other guy is floundering and causing losses
Perfect time to fire a coach for his ineptitude
Perfect time to utilize the portal

ETC
ETC

Always waiting instead of being proactive.

Once EW settled in against Clemson, he didnt look bad. Imagine what a better position Emory would be in going against fspoo if he played against UVA and NCST and he won those games.
Yeah but The delusional TVD fan club was going nuts to even think 🤔 💭 of such a horrendous idea! Because TVD gave the team the best opportunity for victory!!🤣😂🤣😂🤣

If we lose to FSU...zero reason not to start Emory the rest of the way at 6-4. Zero. There is nothing left for TVD to do here. Saturday should be his final hoorah as UM QB forever. We need to get ready for 2024 and head in a new direction at QB. If TVD plays lights out Saturday and somehow we win...then that is great game film for his next team. But the last 2 games I absolutely go with Emory and let him show us what hes got. Giving TVD reps would be pointless. You got the final 2 games..and the extra practices and the bowl game. Let Emory start to take the reins.

The choice is simple play Emory and let him possibly get embarrassed but at the same time pick up valuable experience or play TVD and allow him to be humiliated cause he is already past embarrassment.

Im STILL ****ed that Mario didnt give Emory Williams the start against UVA. I was begging for it!!! After facing Clemson's D, it would have given Williams a game to meld with the receivers against a subpar UVA defense.

TVD in the UVA game:
20 for 30
155 yards passing
0 TD's
2 Int's

Seriously?!?! And the coaches were afraid to play Emory Williams?

We'd be in a completely different place with the QB room than we are now.

If Emory starts, we will be down to zero QBs behind him. Brown is done as a Cane...claims he will play only if Emory is hurt. TVD likely walks away if they start Emory. B Smith to QB?

Where is this info coming from that Brown won't play unless Emory is hurt, and that he wants to transfer? I've seen if reposted a bunch, can someone point to an actual source?

I'm saying he is done as a Cane. I've seen multiple saying he will only play if Emory is hurt. If I'm Mario, I'm making sure I help back TVD and Brown's bags.
