IF Emory Starts/Plays……

What does a portal QB have to do with Emory?
QB recruiting is unaffected this year by whether TVD or Emory plays the season out. We know we can't win with TVD, so why keep playing him? At least get Emory some experience, or at the very least see what we have in him. You think any recruits (qb or otherwise) want to see a team keep trotting out TVD to throw 4 picks a game?

Once again my post is used to argue something I never mentioned. Lol ok pal.

Let Van Dyke ride these next two, Emory gets BC and the bowl vs. some other 6-6 type.
The team is bigger than one single player.

You want to see a whole team quit on the coaches and altogether each other?

Keep throwing TVD out there and have him keep turning the ball over 4 times a game.

If you have an ounce of self worth as a coach, you hold the player accountable for being terrible and you bench him. Doesn’t mean you don’t come back to him down the road at some point, possibly, but you have to bench him at this point.

There’s been a few. My gif of Jon Lester as he couldn’t and wouldn’t throw to first, Steve Sax, Chuck, Mackey Sasser who was a catcher that couldn’t throw the ball back to the pitcher.

You are a finished product in sports when the brain ***** with you in that way.

Here is the biggest thing:

TVD has no trust or believe in himself. How the **** or why the **** should the coaches trust or believe in him??
When Tyler and the coaches mentioned the sports psychologist and Tyler mentioned the book he was reading for encouragement, oddly, i got a sinking feeling. IDKY and although he was playing well up until that point, I got a funny feeling. At this point i think TVD needs a "despojo!" ha

Until Dawson’s Monday weekly presser yesterday, I was 100% convinced TVD would start against the semenholes. He was asked about, and addressed the situation with TVD, right out of the gate. After some of the comments Dawson made yesterday, I’m not so sure TVD starts or at at least if he does start and is ineffective, he gets pulled and Emory gets to play. I’ve attached the Dawson presser below.

If Emory starts/plays, we MUST support him win or lose. Unless he’s just a complete disaster, we need to give him the benefit of the doubt being a true freshman starting/playing against our most hated rival. He’s most likely our future starting QB and he needs to know we’ve got his back.

I have to agree with you. He is open to playing a different QB.

If they start TO-VD and he turns it over early it will be a disaster. Why put the team in that position. I do not see TO-VD turning it around this week. I hope I am dead wrong!! The future is Emory or somebody else the past is TO-VD. I think the O line plays harder for Emory. Kept him upright against Clemson.

I’m paraphrasing here but Dawson said that he doesn’t want his QB’s playing with a cloud over their head feeling like as soon as they make a mistake, and they will make them, they’ll get pulled. He wants them to be able to play “free” and not have getting pulled in the back of their minds.

He was also asked about a “tipping point”. He said there is definitely a tipping point and a decision has to be made if a change is necessary.

After listening to him and Mario yesterday, I think there’s a more likelihood we could see Emory if TVD implodes.
I will be shocked if TVD starts or plays at all. We've seen 3 games in a row from him. It's just insanity to put him on the field and expect a different result." No can do.

I want to both Emory and Jacurri. I don't care that Jacurri hasn't played. Play him. Get him in the game.

Emory has to be the starter otherwise this staff is inept. You do not have a plan to bring him off the bench should TVD struggle, you have the reverse plan. I would expect to see JB on the field some as well. Tough start for the kid, but also a great opportunity.

The hope for the future is shattered if Emory looks like the QB no other team in the country wanted vs the gem that Ponce and Mario found. All the 3* Mac Jones, Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen hype goes away and a different reality creeps in. As of now Mario can sell the unknown to recruits and the fan base. That all vanishes if Emory looks like a pumpkin.
Once EW settled in against Clemson, he didnt look bad. Imagine what a better position Emory would be in going against fspoo if he played against UVA and NCST and he won those games.

He wasn't asked to do anything for the majority of the game. Clemson was unique because they don't present a threat on offense. I think the verdict is still out on what he will do in a game where we need him to be a participant and not a spectator. Fsu will score points.

TVD's turnover ratio has rendered him unplayable. Brown is unplayable because he can't pass.

Starting Emory is far from ideal. I don't expect that it will go well. It is also our only shot to win going forward.

It is a highly adverse situation, but it needs to be accepted for what it is. Coaches need to be planning accordingly, and around the clock.

Risk vs reward situation. We’ve seen true freashamn excel but more often than not, struggle. Tough call either way and that’s why they get paid the big $$$

For sure, huge unknown.

But Corchobal failed to prepare for this situation. Just another awful decision by him. We're going to need a spread sheet to keep up with all his blunders.

No doubt Mario could lose the entire team. I think Guidry can keep the defense motivated but only to a certain point.
