IF Emory Starts/Plays……

If they are planning on starting TVD on a short leash and pulling him if he struggles early that is absolutely stupid. Coaches should have seen enough by now to know sending a hobbled and unsure TVD onto the field is not the recipe for success.

If they are already considering going with Emory eventually, then they should just ******* start him. Put the kid in the best position to succeed by giving him starter reps this week and rallying behind him. Not by throwing your TF QB into the game midway through it and with a hole to climb out of.

No half measures.

So you want to convince the fan base to take it easy on the guy they are convinced is the future of the program. You guys are great.
All things considered, IF, and that’s still a big if as I see it, Emory starts/plays, we should take it in the proper context of a true freshman starting/playing in a game like the semenhole game and place the blame/success at the feet of the decision makers - the coaches.

Can’t disagree with any of that. Throwing Emory into the fire DURING the game would be much worse than just starting him.

I don't see what we've got to lose with letting Emory go from this point forward.... You can't have a QB out there who can't do what he's required to do.... And believe me I like TVD and believed he could do well for us but obvious is obvious for a reason, because it's obvious... TVD has a big issue right now and it's not getting better...
I'm not crazy about throwing a true Frosh to the wolves against FSU but if the young man gives us a better chance of actually winning then let him go... We need a new spark back there... Everything you read and hear about Emory is he's as gung ho as you could imagine, lives in the film room/ weight room... Basically does everything you want a young man in his position to do....
Although he has a limited body of work in real games he did stand tall against Clemson and actually got better as the game wore on. Meaning he settled in and got to work... I have 0 clue what the Coaches should/will do but whatever it is I hope it involves getting Emory on the field...

"Whatever must happen ultimately should happen immediately."

Not that I am happy about it, mind you. The options aren't great. I wouldn't expect a TF QB like Emory to have success at Doak this year. And playing Jacurri for the first time this season up there definitely isn't fair to him or the team.

But, something must be done. Starting Emory is simply the best choice among the bad choices. The least bad option.

The hope for the future is shattered if Emory looks like the QB no other team in the country wanted vs the gem that Ponce and Mario found. All the 3* Mac Jones, Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen hype goes away and a different reality creeps in. As of now Mario can sell the unknown to recruits and the fan base. That all vanishes if Emory looks like a pumpkin.

Leading into UVA I thought the TVD hate was unwarranted and he wasn’t a bad QB. I still don’t think he’s an awful QB.

Clearly something mentally or physically is going on and he isn’t himself right now. It’s time to make the change, although Emory wasn’t great in the Clemson game he did beat Clemson.

As of right now not only is it good for the future. Emory gives us the best chance to win if he gets 1st team reps this week and starts the game.

No it doesn't. Going after a portal qb regardless... **** maybe two. Insistence on trotting out an awful QB week after week looks just as bad, if not worse.

The worst for me was watching how Chuck Knoblauch imploded.... That was unreal to see happen.... Felt bad for the guy, such a good player and then the light just turned off...
There’s been a few. My gif of Jon Lester as he couldn’t and wouldn’t throw to first, Steve Sax, Chuck, Mackey Sasser who was a catcher that couldn’t throw the ball back to the pitcher.

You are a finished product in sports when the brain ***** with you in that way.

Here is the biggest thing:

TVD has no trust or believe in himself. How the **** or why the **** should the coaches trust or believe in him??
