If we end on a 3 game winning streak (bowl game included) and finishing 9-4 after going 5-7 the first year is very good in my opinion.

It’ll include wins against:

- P5 Bowl Team
- 8-2 Miami Ohio team (almost ranked)
- 2 wins against 2 of the most talented teams in A&M & Clemson
- 6-1 at home
- Win against a top 10 team in Louisville (the name may not be big but they’re top 10 nonetheless)

2 losses came down to the final drive.

In 2016 we started 4-0 and then 4-4 and finished 9-4 and had a lot of momentum going into 2017 and we all know how that went. I would expect the same jump if we finish this year strong.

That’s a good way of putting it. Even in 2016 3 of the losses were close and idk what the final was at Va Tech but Miami had their entire defense out. FSU and ND should have been wins that year.
 
people on here will down play the A&M win, the Clemson win, and the Louisville win Saturday (yeah I'm calling it) but all three are solid wins.

- A&M had their whole season in front of them with bobby petrino led offense and their starting QB Connor weigman who was great and we whooped them. He proceeded to get hurt and they collapsed
- Clemson although will finished with 4-5 losses still gave away the game against FSU and we beat them with emory's first legitimate snaps - and pushed them around more importantly
- I firmly believe we will beat Louisville - Louisville kicked notre dame's *** up and down the field and is a really good football team, if/when we win this game, people should be happy

think we'll be a kneel down away from a 10 win season, which is pretty incredible considering our QB forgot how to throw a ball midway through the year
 
I would be happy if they win 8 games this year. Thats a big jump from last year. I'm super worried about next year. I don't like the QB room and we would be lucky to find 1 good portal QB

But a one loss team because the defense carried us.

Against a lot of bad offenses.

We just aren’t even in the same universe of being a good offense.

Cardinals have QB , top flight D , 9-1 peaking in all aspects of there game and making a serious run.
We are totally going in the opposite direction we are just barely hanging on with a tiring out exhausted D.

Plus national TV , every single category we do not match up against this top flight power 5 team.

We totally fall apart under TVD and the pressure coming at him relentlessly.

It hasn’t always been pretty, but we are 3-1* at home vs p5.

Louisville hasn’t shown much on the road.
There was the second half comeback vs NcSt to win by 3.
The other a 17 point loss at Pitt.

I’m of the opinion that they’re a “good“ team that’s a product of a favorable schedule by not playing FSU, UNC, or Clemson and only having two true road games to this point.

If you watch the Nc State and Pitt games, you will see Plummer gets rattled by pressure.
4 of his INT’s have been on the road (2 per game). 2 of them on a neutral field.
So 6 of his 7 INT’s have been in his 4 games away from home.
He’ll give it away, just like Tyler.

That’s all I got.

This ones going to be close.
Maybe a 3rd straight OT at HRS?
 
Offensive line has improved immensely. Defense is a lot better. Probably some of the best LB play in a hot minute. WRs are better than we’ve seen.

But until Mario can solve the QB/OC/Scheme rubik’s cube he’s a 8-4, 9-3 coach here at best. It doesn’t matter how many 5⭐️ or transfers come here. Until that dynamic is fixed I’m not sure Mario will ever win anything meaningful here.

And to context this, I don’t mean the best offense and a Heisman winning QB. You get QB play say similar to Haynes King, from GT this year. This team is probably undefeated. I just don’t believe that’s ever going to happen here unfortunately.
