If we don't like our QB stable, then that kid from USC might be the best option...He'll be a red shirt freshman next year. (Like CJ Carr this year)
Name the schools with viable backup QBs. I'll wait. All this to say that aside from Beck, Mario had a very mediocre pool of QBs on his roster. If this is true, then Mario and his staff did a poor job of handling situation at the most important position in football. Roster mismanagement.
Dawson is the qb coach so it would be hard to bring in another qb coachYes, there are "Grad Assistant" level guys who work with the QB. But nobody at a more senior "one of the 11 assistant coaches" level.
Dawson is the qb coach so it would be hard to bring in another qb coach
Than you need a QB coach who's devoted to developing his entire room because that's his sole job opposed to an oc who only has the time or attention span to work with his starter... I'm not worried about nickel or anyone else we give the job to because we'll limit his risk. We need to prove we can develop our own QBs otherwise every year this is where we'll be come December/January. It's stupid as **** that were worried about this several days away from playing for a national championship. It's a failure by the ncaa and it's a failure by our staff for not getting enough reps for development.
They wouldn’t be one of the 11. And coaches don’t get much time with players. They might just have to get their own qb coachNo it wouldn't. You just change the job titles. The simplest thing possible.
I know Mario didn't think it "would be hard to bring in another QB coach" when he had a potential QB coach at recent practices.
not to argue but why did we recruit him for 2 years ?They aren't going to flat out rip someone on the team but the writing is on the wall.
He's on the shorter side, doesn't have a great arm, and sounds like a gunslinger that puts the ball in harms away a bunch.
Have you not heard that Emory da gawd looks head and shoulders better ?Look at his stats at the highest level of GA football:

Go get the OT from Colorado and solidify the OL. Our run game will be elite. Plenty of good WRs. All we need Nickel to do is manage the game and not ***** it up. No one is asking him to be Cam.
Just remember every good college QB had to start once upon a time with zero experience. The sky isn’t falling.

To be fair if he’s going up against our first team D consistently then that’s not surprising.b/c Pete and others have said he has struggled bigtime and is very turnover prone.
Read between the lines - he might even portal.

He's leaving and it will be Judd.Emory is Dawsons favorite. He will be the starter. It won’t be a nickel or Coleman. If we don’t have a miracle and get somebody else really quick, this is what’s happening.

i heard from Dmoney that hes twitched up nowHave you not heard that Emory da gawd looks head and shoulders better ?
It's terrifying that such strong opinions would be given about a player without realizing no pressure or no pass rush has zero applicability to a real game.
Don’t seem like dawson wants to recruit either. And the analyst thing been happening. Saban was stashing coaches as analystThat's why I put it in parentheses, genius. There are all kinds of rules that can be circumvented, you don't have to ONLY use a 22-year-old GA. You can pay a more seasoned coach and call him an "analyst" or a "consultant", and only have him work with the QB.
Besides, the guy who might be interested doesn't want to be one of the 11, he doesn't want to recruit.
Are you challenging me to a footrace? We have taken a QB every single year from HS and have 4 on the roster.
We (and 75%+ of the top programs) are no longer willing to invest millions in a HS QB so we (and many others) now take lower rated QBs with traits and try to hit the lottery.
We could be like USC and countless others that took a 5* QB out of HS and paid them big money only for them to sit for a year and transfer elsewhere.
You must be Forrest Gump to not understand this.
Well ,thats subjective. What is objectively true is he was the only qb we recruited for 2 years. Coaches didnt think he failed the eye test then. Not saying i know he can play- i dont.Nickel is probably an awesome kid- nothing personal.
Take one look at him in pads on the miami sideline. To say he fails the eye test is an understatement.
