Against the gator we had a swarming defense, it was incredible and reminiscent of years gone by. I was thrilled and expected our defense to improve. Not last Saturday I 'm talking about last year AT the swamp. We pounded them defensively, so what happened, why did we suddenly become a porous defense without a clue? Go look and be amazed about how we looked later in the year. PLEASE TEAM, DON'T LET IT HAPPEN AGAIN. Swarm, hit like you are tackling someone 2 yards beyond your opponent. Do you Ray Lewis impersonation. Be the Defensive Hurricanes of yore in every game..

DC’s found out that they couldn’t figure out pre-snap motion. Same thing that happened when GT exposed TVD.
 
Cautionary tale
That qb locked into first read almost every play
We did have some breakdowns in secondary
Lagway checked out pretty early

So, chicken or egg
If a dl is getting this amount of pressure w 4, does the secondary need to be perfect.
If secondary is locking people down, the dl can feast
At this moment I feel dl is limiting exposure
As well as allowing lbs to play fast and aggressive

It's a great to have th8s chat
As its been.a while for Miami DL to create havoc like this

Billy is just that bad of an OC. The one time they run misdirection I believe was their long touchdown run. Never went back to it much if at all.

We looked good vs Florida last year because they came out in the same exact plays as the year prior. It was even said by the players. They knew what was coming.

Then USF happened. Which was the tape that exposed us. Teams took advantage us from then on. FSU showed how to slow down the pass. At that point....teams had what they needed.
 
College coaches make upwards of 7 million a year. Each team is constantly evaluated and coaches share when they see an opponents flaws. Great coaches catch those flaws first and fix them. I like that conversation from out staff is we need to improve. They hopefully are ignoring the smoke being blown up their butts and keep fixing whats broke before it becomes a problem. Improve every game and the season will be a success.

Only the top 25ish are making 7mil. Lots aren’t. There are plenty of good coaches not making 7plus. The difference is staff and nil.
 
I normally share this sort of view, but this defense really does look different. For one, Trask was QB. For another, it was the first game of the year, which we usually excel at under Mario. For another, Bain looked completely lost last year.

The Canes will actually get better this year. We will continue to fire and play nasty D.

FSU will be the game.
 
Guidry been a problem since the first year he coached at Miami yet fans were praising him. I called It out that year and knew he wasn’t it
 
Word on the street is Guidry owed some big gambling debts to some hard hitters & mailed it in. Kind of like the Vinnie/Penn State debacle but actually made up.
