I tried to tell y'all about crystal

I’m normally team mope but jeez some of you need to be prescribed xanax or something. It’s literally been 4 games. 4.
This is 1) a scheme issue 2) a mental issue with the players.

“What improvements have you seen that gives you faith we are headed in the right direction?”
Idk how about actually getting good OL recruits committed for the first time in how long? How about beating a highly talented SEC team in the trenches on both sides of the ball just a week ago?

Don’t get me wrong this situation is insufferable, but you guys act like the next 10 years is already over.

Even manny fired his OC and switched it up and hired lashlee. Probably should blame BMAC for leaving when/how he did for messing with the coaching hires.

Game 1: Bethune-Cookman W 70-13
-281 Yards Passing between 2 qbs
-305 Yards Rushing between 4 RBs and some scrambling
-Restrepo had 100 yrds, all other receivers 33 or less

Game 2: Southern Miss W 30-7
- 276 Yards Passing between 2 qbs
-174 Yards rushing 3 Rbs
-276 Yards between 8 Receivers (decent yds per catch average for them though)

Game 3: Texa$ A&M L 17-9
-217 Yards passing 1 qb
-162 Yards rushing 3 rbs
-217 Yards receiving 8 Receivers (again, some good average per catch numbers)

Game 4: Middle Tennessee State University.....MIDDLE....TENNESSEE F*CKING STATE UNIVERSITY.... L 45-31 (even the score is cap)
-307 Yards Passing between 2 qbs
-60 yards rushing...between everyone and the hydration specialist
-307 Yards receiving between 11 receivers

These the four games you're talking about...right? I'm not really coming at you, but coming at your angle. In every game the team has gotten WORSE. And we're not talking we took a big leap in comp. A&M, but they actually suck and if we had learned anything from the previous 2 games, we would've won. The system has broken these players. You're not going to win FBS games with these stats and how many plays we run to attain them. I'm not a full blown gloomer, but this isn't even fun to watch. CIS Twitter posted something along the lines of "was doing some research on MTSU" and I replied "The fact that you have to research them is a major problem." We shouldn't have these issues. Yes, new system, takes a bit to get greased up. But this system is legit dogs*t. Again 5-7-10 yard out routes with no tree options and delayed HB wheel routes. No hot routes. A rare skinny post from x and z spots. It's almost like no one is allowed in the middle of the field except TEs. And even then, they run 5-7 yard hitches, or outs that bring their defender to the outside receivers. There was one play yesterday that there were 3...THREE receivers within the same11 yards of each other at the end of the play. They looked like Lbs for the other team!

The saying goes, "it'll get worse before it gets better" I don't think we've hit worst yet. This is not going to be a 8 win team if we don't fix a lot of issue really quick.

Last i saw, the SEC team beat us.
No moral victories in FB..

We’re fucctd.
I did not see this coming. I was thrilled with the Cristobal hire. I was sure an experienced, no nonsense coach, and good recruiter was exactly what this program needed.
Boy was I wrong, and I have seen enough to know this is not going to end well.
You don’t get blown out like that vs middle Tennessee state at home and somehow magically turn it around.
Something is not right. I don’t think the players even care, I think they played harder under Manny and that’s not saying much.

His hires have been terrible, his offense philosophy of ball control, three years and a cloud of dust, is never going to work here or anywhere in today’s college football.
Unfortunately, he’ll be here for another decade and by then we’ll be Nebraska. This might be the last nail in the coffin for this program that is already in it’s death throes. We had one chance to get it right and screwed the pooch again.

Three years and a cloud of dust may be the absolute best moniker for our offense under Gattis/Mario. Whether intentional or not 😂

Why I am still stuck on Saturday? I can’t over this ****. Didn’t see this coming from Mario and the staff. Saw the dolphins game yesterday. And Dorsey always has an outlet for Josh Allen. McKenzie and singletary always open 5 yards down the field. Why can’t we just have quick check downs? Why can’t we throw RB screens to Knighton or Parrish? What high school offense are we running? 😫😫😫

Christobal has smartest guy in the room syndrome. "He was being thorough" .

Not only does he lead an exhaustive search but when he does hire the OC, he makes sure to put his hands all over the offense. Well, that was the word from Oregon folks, at least. So, does it even matter who he hires as OC?

I don't think Gattis was anywhere close to his first choice. The timing doesn't suggest that. It makes me wonder who was the first, second, etc choices.
Wasn't Joe Brady the first OC choice? That kind of dragged out and then Brady announced he preferred to stay in the NFL.

All I know which isn't much is Miami has a way of making football a lot harder than it really is. This is a passing game now. You can still control the LOS with a pass first offense. See OHIO STATE, CLEMSON, and BAMA. They all are prime examples of this. These teams all adopted to CFB and now lead the pack every year.

My biggest concern with the Mario hire is playing out right in front of us. He is so stubborn, as most head coaches are, that he would make south florida kids play a style that does not suit them. How many times do we need to try this until someone slaps the HC in the face and tells him it won't work here.

We have seen it with every coaching hire the past 15 years.

FIFY

The only thing Mario had going for him is a track record of winning at a P5 program. But I’m starting to lose sight of that man. Idk

would take him any day over gattis
Fedora was neutered by aranda year one. They won 4 games. And looked terrible. But Dave had a change in philosophy but that was after firing fedora. Honestly I think he’s a has been at this point

Maybe. I couldn't keep up with all of the speculation and it was literally all over the place with wrong assumptions every step of the way.

You sound like the same kind of guy who "told us" about Butch, too.

It's four games. Who cares what you "told" anybody, based on your opinion.

Wow, a team that went 7-5 last year, 21-15 under Diaz, 28-24 since Richt's 10 start and has average 7-5 over the past 16 seasons (118-85)—still doesn't miraculously look good four games into Mario's career.

You're telling us that hiring a big-money staff doesn't immediately rectify decades of ****-poor play and a broken culture? Color me shocked.

This argument only works if it is somehow reasonable to lose to middle Tennessee by 14 at home. You don’t need miracles to beat MTSU…

I actually agree with everything you're saying. I was just answering the question of “What improvements have you seen that gives you faith we are headed in the right direction?”. Our situation is pathetic and dire. Gattis needs to look himself in the mirror and get his Broyles award out of his ***.

I thought aTm was a horrible team also, but they just squeaked one out against a good Arkansas team as well, and Oklahoma, Texas, and App State all just lost this weekend. App State lost to James Madison, which is the team that beat MTSU. App State is the team that beat aTm. We actually should have beaten aTm, but with our joke of a performance to MTSU, obviously deserved to lose. Really crazy season we're having and anything can happen on any given saturday. Truly just bizarre. Again, I wouldn't even say we lost to aTm, we really just beat ourselves with mental mistakes or basic fundamentals errors. But that win vs Arkansas just shows that they are actually a decent team and we hung neck and neck with them. Which is really why I said in the original post our issues are 1) scheme 2) mental. The players said it themselves that they weren't amped up to play. I don't know how you fix that, but yeah.

Again, this is is truly a miserable situation for the entire canes nation, and what we saw at home vs MTSU was absolutely disgusting, but you really have to give it a full season see if its full blown time to mope. I joked in the game thread about how I knew people were going to make "remember Saban lost to UL Monroe his first year" porsts. Our sample size really is just too small to know for sure. Gattis most likely is garbage. His offense, that he allegedly wasn't even calling the plays for at Bama and Michigan, requires a WR core of: Waddle, Ruggs, Devonta Smith, and Jerry Jeudy to work. Kinda like Dan Enos, his offense required a very good O line, which we did not have.

Oregon warned us. Cristobal was going to do 4 things. 1) recruit at a high level 2) have us in close games for no reason at all 3) lose random head scratcher games 4) win an unexpected big game
So far he's doing just that. So par for the course thus far.
