I tried to stay out of it...

You know how we know this isn't true. Mario is too connected to South Florida. If he was going to be the coach, the rumor mill which always starts on Twitter would be off the hook. You can't keep it quiet. Herman or a guy like that, it would be somewhat quiet. Now, here is what I will tell you. Mario is very well liked, if he wants to come home he's on the staff of Davis, Schiano, Pagano, Chud, or pretty much else. So the rumor in Alabama may be true, Mario may have decided to come home even if he's not the HC. Going from OL at Bama making $450, to OL and AHC making $750 is still a pretty good promo.

100% THIS!

There has been absolutely no local HS sourced rumor about THE TRAITOR. There should be a ton of whispering, by now. The fact that there isn't, one can safely say that:

THERE'S ZERO CHANCE OF THE TRAITOR COMING TO MIAMI IN ANY CAPACITY!!!

They haven't even done interview yet and he was "offered" the job. Foh lol.. Anyone who believes this is on the good gas lol

I didn't say I believed it lol a lot of you guys need help.

And yes, I'm on that good gas.

The only reason I tend to believe this school would make a hire this bad is that the administration is totally clueless, has hired three duds in a row to ruin the program, is a bunch of cheapskates, and has an AD that's a moron. We all know these facts, and that is what kind of hire these cluster####s are very capable of making. At any rate, nothing these ###hats will do will surprise me at all. SOMEONE is certainly pushing this clown down our throats with all these so-called "leaks".

Sounds like they hired this K-F organization just to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic at this point. They did the same thing with Radio, so there you are.

Just passing along something here. Definitely TIFWIW but an acquaintance of mine is a coach for one of the high school teams around here. I live about 5 hours from Tuscaloosa so its Alabama and FSU up here with UF and Auburn mixed in.

Long story short, I speak to this guy every day and he is an Alabama alum. He doesnt give a **** about the Hurricanes but we have discussed the coaching search. Well, he is long time friends with someone who is on the Alabama staff, which boasted to him about the promotion that he was about to get.

This buddy of mine, says that this guy on the staff (love the third hand info) has been told that Mario was offered and will be taking the head coaching job at Miami.

Dont kill the messenger and I hope his fat friend is wrong. Just thought I would share because I consider this "source" reliable.

you tell your friend, to go to ****.

He already lives in Alabama.

Touche.

Met a Tide Alum at my local cigar shop (me wearing a Miami sweatshirt and him fully decked out in red) he said we were taking their line coach. I told him we don't want him. Prefer Butch or similar. Interestingly enough he said well we need someone good cause football ain't right without a good Miami team.

Listen...

If they pay Mario 2 mil per year and 1 mil per coordinator it could work.

Otherwise, it will be a total disaster.

Well lets hope by Cristobal leaving and going somewhere else, that somewhere else is UCF or something, and not here.

Pcitycane: If it was someone else posting this, I would have said he/she posted this just to be noticed. But coming from you it strikes me as very odd. You know better than to start a thread based on something said to you that doesn't make sense anyway you look at it.

Nope. Elite coordinators are going for north of 1 million (Chavis at A&M, Cameron who's not a good OC is making north of a million, and Kirby Smart at Bama is the highest paid). With Mario to have even a snow ball's chance in **** of succeeding here, he'll need to have the staff to trump all staffs. Which says a lot. And even then, given all the money in the world doesn't mean anything. He'd probably retain Coley and give him a noticeable pay bump.

doesn't make sense? Our athletic program is run by complete fools. I'd think if something made perfect sense to me, it would probably not be actually happening because our administrators don't make good decisions.

That says more to how badly those fans want to get rid of The TRAITOR.

The way I see it at this point, I have been so Goldenized that the passion has been sucked out of me. I needed a good hire to bring me up from the dumps on this program, and Mario is a joke. I can now save the money I would have used to buy season tickets.

And please, for the blind optimism folks- spare me. I don't do blind optimism. I never liked Golden when we hired him and I was right. Don't tell me to give an offensive line coach with very little credentials "a chance".

No, he did not build up FIU. They had one good year for THEIR STANDARDS. 27-47

No, he isn't a good recruiter. Give me a Bama track jacket and position on the staff and watch me shoot up the Top Recruiter in the Nation rankings. It's easy when you work there.

No, he isn't ready for this job. The facts are what they are. His supporters only use opinions to support him and his hiring. There are very few, if any, facts to support him as a good candidate for this job, much less the best one.

Amateur Hour at its finest... DALE!!!

I'm Cuban so that should say something about how Mario is going to bring our community together as some outlandish posters and media guys have tried to say to support his hiring. Once again, an opinion. He isn't here to be a politician. He is here to win. WINNING brings people together.
