This. And Louisville? They made 2 of the lowest probability interceptions any team had all year. They played the game of their lives - it happens.

If you think Beck lost us Indiana idk what to tell you. Idk how you blame him over Alex Bauman, for starters.

Also no mention of notre dame, UF, FSU, aTm and winning 4 effectively playoff games to end the season to make it into the playoffs.

I think your numbers are off. I believe we lost 1 more starter than they did. But yes, they heavily rely on transfers - I believe they have somewhere around 8-9 starters that are transfers.
 
I can still see them being atleast 2024 good, making playoffs this year, they have enough pieces that their formula is still there (strong defense, they return oline, strong WR core, easy ooc schedule) Hoover would have to be worse than Rourke and they made playoffs with him. Team rarely makes mistakes, idk their schedule but only rb is question mark and they have vet oline to supplement.. Their DC is best in biz and they return enough where they will still be really good on that side of ball

Meh… that ship has sailed. Beating them moving forward won’t have the same significance.

The story was there…

-Mendoza a Miami kid grew up a Canes fan

-Mendoza, Cristobal and Mirabal all went to the same HS. Cristobal and Mirabal played with his dad in HS

-Number 6… at home.

-Cristobal winning his first natty as a HC at home.

What Cig and his staff has done at Indiana is probably the greatest coaching we’ll ever see. Their fan base has every right to milk this. They had a phenomenal season.


But we should have won that game. 02 was taken from us; but we gave this one away.

The 5 year eligibility rule destroys their formula. No more teams loaded with 25-27 year olds going against 18-20 year olds. That was a huge advantage for them. Not anymore.
 
Cignetti was able to execute a massive rebuild quickly because of the portal and the fact that he knew he could get a ton of guys from JMU to follow him. He was able to establish a culture quickly, because he had a ton of grown men that already knew what he wanted and how things worked. It was a very unique situation, and he took full advantage of it.

The issue is that it's tough to win at a high level consistently, when you aren't recruiting at a high level. I don't know if his quirks resonate with HS kids, he has a lot of Mike Leach in his personality, and that limits his effectiveness as a recruiter. Some kids are going to flock to that, but a lot of the higher end kids won't.

I expect IU to be a consistent 8-10 win team going forward with Cigs, but I believe that's their ceiling.

Yeah I think Hoover is really good. Pair that with their coaching.

Not much resistance in their conference though I’ve always been a Matt Campbell fan. Thought it was a big mistake firing Franklin but they made it work with him.

Agreed and what he has done thus far plus consistently winning 8-10 games a year going forward would be a great achievement for Cig at a place like Indiana.

Yea he is a lame, no recruit going to go there cause he is charismatic. Dude like the guy on a yellow bus that yells at everyone to sit down.

They had the most annoying fans to me out of the playoff run, and that's crazy that they were worse than TAMU and OSU.
