I don't believe Manny's firing is a lock

It'll probably come down to math. If Manny ends up with 8 wins(bowl win) amd a star qb going into next season then you have to ask yourself what is the value of the 2 or 3 more wins that Mario or Lane has over Manny.

With Mario it may not be worth the 25mil+ to make that move right now. Lane would be cheaper but both coaches would require a raise and a Manny buyout and they both already make more than Manny.

Can Manny convince the new AD that we're close?

Does the new AD want to simply clean house and start fresh?

Why are you even contemplating this?

How many posts here have to smack you in the face to convince you Manny is done (dead man walking). If you don’t want to believe Manny is done, you will be extremely disappointed very soon.

Mario or lane getting 2 or 3 more wins than Manny is the whole point. Those wins are the difference between winning the ACC and sucking hind ***, which is what we're doing now. So yes, it's worth it

I think all of this is and has been settled for at least a couple weeks…Blake knew he was gone and when he got canned Manny was told he was out but was asked if he wanted to finish the year out and of course he said yes figuring what’d he have to lose.Maybe if he won out they’d change their minds or at the least he could help his resume cause it couldn’t really get any worse.

As far as the AD that was decided and the part of ZO becoming the lead for F.B Only was broached and OK’d by the new AD.

What is happening now has been done , the contracts written and they are being signed as they are being announced…

All the wishing ,wanting and guessing is all for naught.All this is a done deal and the U is on the way back….jmo

Got just as good a chance of being right as all these other people guessing and trying to sound like the really do know WTF is going on…I just know how these things with all the back channeling work and not having things very far along at this point would be stupid on the universities part especially with all these jobs opening up…again just my opinion.

That's got me sweating this entire process. Somebody is about to be propped up. We're lucky it wasn't Manny or Golden. But **** could still get ugly if they're spending that much on the plan C guy because Mario said no and Lane went elsewhere.

Exactly. If you retain him, next year’s class will be trash since everyone knows he’ll be fired by the new AD anyway short of an ACC championship.

Is 2 -3 games worth 20 million? Not to some ****ed off fans but the people who have to put the money up. The new AD could think of finances and say if no great coach appears then wait until next year the Mario option doesn't go away and it even becomes cheaper.

I won't be disappointed. I mentioned in another post that I thought that he had a 5% chance of being retained which is almost none. Just discussing another scenario.

People who talk in absolutes almost always find themselves at some point having to "hope for something" to cover for something that they committed to.
