I’m gonna say it, Homer is a better back...

I agree but that doesn't mean Walton isn't really good. What I want to know is why did Richt not sit Walton and let him get healthy when Homer can clearly carry the load?

this is the million dollar question. The problem with a lot of people on this board is we can't say we really like Homer without other feeling they have to defend Walton. Im pretty sure a vast majority of cane fans realize Walton is a **** of a football player but he is not a pure runner and thats ok. This doesnt mean Walton cant or wont be a great hurricane, doesn't mean Homer will either. I just like Homer the running back better. No reason for the workload to be what is was for Walton over Homer how it was prior to Walton injury. That was a poor decision by Richt.

Please stop...I like Homer (his hands surprised me) and he is going to be a player. But Walton is that dude. Would have done the same thing with those same looks.

This.

It happens every time someone new plays.

Somebody claimed that Dallas Crawford was better than Duke Johnson.

Somebody (a lot of somebodies actually) claimed that Joe Yearby was better than Mark Walton.

And now this.

I happen to think that this claim isn't as far-fetched as the others though.

I don't think Walton houses that TD run. He doesn't have that kind of speed.

Homer at 100% is easily much better than Walton at 100%.

Walton will be the backup RB at best next year.

Homer is clearly a far more explosive athlete and has some nice moves as well.

You guys are crazy. Walton was 1000 yd back last year and on his way again before he got injured. GTFOH Walton would start for 99% of any team in the nation, If not 100%... For those doubters name me better backs in college? Only a few will come to mind and even those are debatable.

Homer and Walton are both ballers.

Pretty pathetic that people feel they have to trash one or the other. Walton has shown he's elite and Homer is well on his way

No he would not start for 99% of teams in the nation.

You want names.

1. Saquon Barkley
2. Bo Scarborough
3. Damien Jarris8
4. Derrius Guide
5. Royce Freeman
6. Nick Chubb
7. Myles Gaskin
8. Ronald Jones.
9. Mike Weber
10. Mark Walton

Also Walton had 5.3 ypc the year before.

I will say this, the play calling, for the most part, is better when Homer is in. No clue why that is, but the O just seems to run more smoothly with him in there. Now Walton, I believe, would absolutely tear it up if he got the same looks Homer is getting.

Lol classic idiot overreaction. We ran a ton of quick throws today so we never got to see him deal with pass protection. His running skills were never in doubt.

what about the 3tds he was on the field for in the FSU game, all passes btw. stop trying to find a hole that isn't there. (like walton)

Homer is better at running that power sweep play Richt loves. Besides that Walton is the better back when healthy and that will be evident in the NFL. Walton is a lot like Kareem Hunt. Homer reminds me of Cadillac Williams and I've never made that comparison before because Cadillac was unique.

I think we are very fortunate to of had both of them and next year whether Walton comes back we are going to have one heck of backfield.

Right now no matter who is or isn’t better we are in a VERY vicarious situation.

You thought depth was bad when Walton was healthy its REALLY bad now that he’s hurt.God forbid Homer gets nicked up cause who do you turn to then? Gray ? DJ ?

instead of wasting time on whose better between these two we need to be saying Novenas to all that is mighty that Homer makes it to the end of the season.
